There was just an article on Car & Driver (I think?) about how the vehicle color palatte is shifting back from the safe "casket colors" to more vibrant ones.   Yeah, Mazda's "Soul Red Crystal Metallic" is just a frickin' winner. If they ever discontinued that, it'd be a gigantic mistake.

Eh, to be fair, some of the colors you're referencing are on specific models only, and sometimes even only on particular trims.

Ford's made some mistakes, but one area where they're absolutely making it right now is their color options. This, shelter green, their deep reds and burgundy, Adriatic teal, molten magenta, orange, grabber blue, Robbins egg blue, area 51, and others I guarantee I'm forgetting.    At a time when it feels like every car is some neutral color, it's nice seeing Ford trying to bring color back. A really nice, rich purple/violet color would round things out nicely, and I would like to see a red that rivals the sex appeal of Mazda red. But beyond that, they're acing it.    I hope Ford keeps a lot of these fun colors around for years to come 

Given the fact that MPG is a terrible way to measure fuel economy, that difference is about 77 gallons per 10K miles driven.    So about $300 bucks at $4 a gallon gas.

Yea, for sure. Similarly, Civic Hybrid has been a hit for Honda with an all time sales record in 2025 and the momentum continuing into this year. It contributed to Honda earnin' the title "America's Most Fuel Efficient Full-Line Automaker"  

Just to see, I did a U1M (Platinum 4x4) build with nothing added except the Blue Ember paint, which automatically added the 30th Anniversary Package. Weirdly, power running boards are NOT standard on the Platinum, they're part of the Driver's Package. Anyway, price tag rings in at... $85250. Actually less than I thought it'd be. Adding in the Driver's Package only adds $1825, and brings the power panoramic roof, power boards, 22 speaker B&O system, power pedals, power tilt/telescope, wireless charge pad, and illuminated rear spoiler as highlights.
