No. What it means is if your hourly check is less than your regularly scheduled hours, ford makes up the difference up to a certain amount. For UAW production makes up the difference up 38 hours, minus any relevant shift premium. I got it a lot during my last summer in production when we were launching the Ranger. I would regularly only work 2 hours a day (10 hours a week) and still get 38 hour checks.  

It’s like when Ford got caught in the Chicken Tax shenanigans with the Transit Connect—did Ford get to go after its customers to recover all those back taxes and penalties it owed the gov’t, or did it just have to eat those costs?
