Jaguar Land Rover’s US Production Plan With Stellantis Jaguar Land Rover chief financial officer Richard Molyneux told investors that the company signed an exploratory memorandum with Stellantis in May to explore “complementary capabilities” in US product and technology development. He said this framework is expected to include Defender-branded models built at Stellantis plants in the United States, with a specific manufacturing agreement targeted around the end of this year. Molyneux described the North American push as “new vehicles, new segments” under the Defender badge, aimed squarely at US customers, and pointed to volume limits as the reason not to just localize the existing Defender. JLR sells roughly 30,000 Defenders a year in America and he argued it “can never localize efficiently at 30,000 units, or even at 50,000 units,” which is why Stellantis-built products are on the table instead of copying the current SUV. Those future US Defenders are widely expected to use a Stellantis truck or SUV platform, likely related to the Jeep Wrangler, rather than JLR’s own EMA architecture. Inside JLR, EMA’s next job is the upcoming Range Rover GT, which has been unveiled on that platform but is still running through final validation testing in the United Kingdom ahead of a full launch later this year.

Not sure if it'll go anywhere, but... Polestar Dealer Claims the US Ban Was Just an Excuse to Leave America - Autoblog Polestar Lawsuit Adds A New Twist To Its US Sales Ban Polestar and Volvo are basically cousins, both tied to Chinese giant Geely. But here’s the twist: Volvo got the green light to keep selling connected cars in the US, while Polestar got the boot. Polestar claims the government ruling killed its American future. Which begs the question: why did Volvo get a pass while Polestar was left out in the cold? Polestar That’s exactly what Prestige Imports in New Jersey wants to know. The dealer, which runs Prestige Polestar in East Hanover and Polestar Short Hills, is now suing for at least $25 million, accusing Polestar of breaking New Jersey’s Franchise Practices Act. According to the lawsuit, Polestar had been plotting its US exit for about two years, and the government ban just gave it the perfect excuse to pull the plug, Automotive News reports. Prestige claims Polestar later sent out a “force majeure” letter, basically saying the sales ban was out of its hands. Prestige isn’t buying it. The dealer says that letter was really just a way to kill its franchise without the required 60-day notice or any real reason, even though Prestige says it held up its end of the bargain.

Ford also likes to decontent products as they age. I don't think pointing to them eliminating the frunk compartment components necessarily proves that they don't care about frunk room.

Ford Fathom Reveal Less Than Six Months Away -
I'm a bit curious as to where that would come from. I just checked the Product Info Guide and the Order Guide. There's zero information in those showing anything about any changes to the 3.5 High Output engine. The Order Guides specifically never state horsepower or torque, they've shown "TBD" for years. The Product Info Guide states the same 450hp and 510 lb/ft as prior years. AND, we're currently able to order 2027's. If there's some big change cooking and they're still keeping it under wraps, I'd be very surprised. For some reason I keep thinking the 3.5 High Output was dropped into the Platinums at some point, but as I look back through prior years, that's seeming like more of a "was speculated" from one of the years. Speaking of the Product Info Guide, it does admittedly show the 3.0 engine having the same power output as the outgoing 2.7, which seems odd. Then again, if they boost it up to what it's capable of, the standard output 3.5 becomes at-risk. They'd be awful close in power outputs, right along with the 5.0 V8.

Still a few years out for that...plus I think it might be just an additional product. Given that Louisville is the only plant making the UEV (so far), you'd think they'll hit some sort of manufacturing cap at some point, but then again, Tesla's Fremont plant apparently can make 650K units a year, but I have no idea if LAP is roughly the same size or not or what Ford plans are long term for the UEV production wise are.
