I still file this under cool but meh.... I don't really follow racing, though.

Sure, but you'd also think Ford would want to add this production method to other plants at some point too. But I guess if we're earmarking Cuatitlan for C2 production (unless we're throwing out the idea of Nautilus and Corsair going there), where would another UEV factory go?

How it's gonna feel watching Ford compete for the overall win at le mans next year. -
Weirdly, it might actually be the opposite. On the 2026, the 2.7EB and 5.0 V8 come standard with "Option Code 425", the 50 state emissions. For 2027, it's standard on the 5.0 and 5.2 V8 only. The 3.0EB, 3.5EB, 3.5PB, 3.5EB-HO all show Federal emissions standard, but if ordered in a California Emissions state, it'll automatically come with the 50 states package. Continuing the weirdness, looking at the Explorers, the 2.3EB for 2026 and 2027 both show Federal emissions package standard with the Option Code 425 for California Emissions states. The 2026 models with the 3.0EB automatically got the 50 states/California emissions... but 2027 doesn't. Those get the Federal standard, and 50 state/California for those states that require it. Emissions games. Disappointingly, I still see Auto Start-Stop on the 27 Explorers, even though the F-150 won't have it. Probably see that phased out over the vehicle lines on all manufacturers now that the CARB credit is gone.

Hell yeah. I know all the prototype racers look very similar, but this looks a little sexier than most of the oreca chassis cars I've seen. -

If successful as projected, I would think Cuautitlán would go "under the knife" so that exporting UEV to other countries can get rolling. I would also think that Chongqing in China would get a new line added to build out UEV for China and Pacific rim sales. -
Along with profit. That's what happens when you cut dead weight and add better products.

They're right. They chose to exit the US rather than do what Volvo did to get approval. Not hard to understand - US was only 6% of their sales.

What did the 3.5EB lose in HP with the particulate filter? 18HP IIRC? My bet is Ford bumped up to the 3.0EB from the 2.7EB, added the filter. Thus erasing any HP gains the 3.0EB would have had without the filter.

Yeah they shouldn't have a problem, but if the Fathom and Escape EV are "successful" of selling say a 100K units a year per nameplate, things might get crowded there quick, using ICE manufacturing metrics.
