The automobile is the most grossly over- engineered thing on the planet.   Engine and vehicle efficiencies and tech more or less came to maturity by the 1990s with microntroller based engine and powertrain systems.   The Chevy Chevette Isuzu Diesel achieved 73 mpg highway, mid 1980s, my in laws still have theirs, so don't tell me more engineering driving up costs is needed. IIRC there was also a Ford van sort of vehicle from that era with similar mpg   I can do that kind of engineering, I know it isnt needed.   Theres no reason to keep expanding and reengineering to keep adding electronics, thats not transportation.   These new vehicles are UGLY and they all look the same.    Tell the Fed to stuff their CAFE rules and give us 75 -100 mpg. CAFE isnt about saving fuel, its about using enough to keep prices lower. There's been a trend in decreasing quantities of vehicle lubricants with things like 'lifetime trans fluid' , time for fuel to do the same. Fuel use kills engine oil.   I modified my F250 land yacht to get max of 33mpg at about 45mph, level ground.   In addition, there needs to be, in addition to features like cruise control ( constant speed) a 'high mileage' mode allowing speed changes to get higher mileage. Softer takeoffs, less torque (speed) on uphills.   High compression, bio diesel. Ignore the legacy hysteria about 'dirty diesel,' thats history.

The cab is too cramped in the footwell. Makes it feel smaller than Ranger. I sat in a Tacoma a few years back and the shallow footwells made me feel as though my knees were wrapped around the steering wheel.

Tacoma is about an inch wider and about 2.4” longer. The Tacoma also offers a 6’ bed but it is a relatively small percentage of sales. They’re close but overall Tacoma is a tad larger. More than I thought. I understand better now what JP is getting at.

nwmofarmer, thanks posting the pic, that's the first 2027 I've seen in Iconic Silver which is my choice but in the F350 Lariat Tremor version, should arrive next week.   d232799, The date on my window sticker is 08 11 26, so for me I believe that is just the date all the build parts are locked in for the set production date   I've learned that a "shipped" status w/o a date means it's just in the shipping queue.  After 8/23, I assume it moves over to the mass staging area lot.  About 10 days later, an update followed where the "Shipped" date was back filled in.  It's my understanding that is the date it "left the facility" which I assume means it was loaded on the on-site rail car and departed towards delivery.  About a week later, the tracking changed the estimated delivery out to the next week now as 9/8 - 9/14.  Not sure if it's consistent with the "Build" date, but 8/23 was the date my window sticker became available.   For those like me using the Ford Tracking Portal, here's my status:

Funny thing,  after reading your post on production above Thunder Snow,  i logged into my Ford Acct.  and found my window sticker is available.  I see at the bottom the date 09-02-26 so it seems my truck is produced early as I had a Week of September 7 listed over the last month.  With my last 4 Kings,  the website was always slow to update,  but its nice info to get no matter.  I have to say,  Ford seems really on top of order-delivery down pat.

That would be tacoma.
