The possibility of subterfuge by Chinese commies using software installed in a Lincoln Nautilus or Corsair, or even a car from one of them Chinese automakers, is a talking point for lyin' American politicians, nothing more. Automotive industry big shot Sam Abuelsamid wrote about this back in August: China is now the largest automotive market in the world by a wide margin, Chinese-brand vehicles are generally highly respected, and American politicians are lying about why consumers here can’t get access to them. There are politicians, including Ohio senator Bernie Moreno and Michigan senator Elisa Slotkin, who are pushing a bill that would outright ban the importation of Chinese vehicles and potentially even ban sales of vehicles from companies that are more than 15% controlled by Chinese entities. The excuse is that Chinese-produced or -controlled vehicles could be used to spy on American drivers or gather data that can be sent back to the Chinese government. This argument is frankly farcical. If the Chinese government wants to gather data on Americans, they don’t need to sell us cars, they can just go to any number of data broker companies and get everything they want from the millions of connected vehicles already on American roads. If they wanted to spy, they could just have someone buy American-built vehicles and install data loggers to capture the data from the cameras that are already out there. No, this is all about protectionism for the American auto industry. If that's what they want, they should just be open about it. If politicians actually cared about surveillance, they would enact comprehensive national data privacy laws that protect us from corporations and governments here and abroad. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen.

Not just the R2. According to today's Autoline Daily, the Rivian van accounts for 44% of its third quarter sales.

That bugs me ALL THE TIME! Like, seriously people, spend an hour to put in this really cool feature because it would be super easy to do. Websites that don't work bug the shit out of me! Because, you know, I can look at the JavaScript and fix it in 5 minutes. 🙄 -
But it's installed in China so there is a possibility of subterfuge but I'm sure Ford has processes in place to catch that.

Doesn't seem worthy of a recall to me. If it happens fix it.

Especially when you know how easy it would be to code it. 😎

Just meant that Musk is obsessed with max performance and I don't see him skipping this. It might be track only or configured differently but I can;t see him walking away from it.

The paint colors can be fascinating too. Grabber Blue, Rangoon Red, Mystichrome, and Gotta Have It Green to name only a few.
