The tech types/levels in Ford's lineup are such a mixed bag. The 27 F-150 is effectively a carry-over other than the 3.0 replacing the 2.7 engine, "entry level" off road models, the Carhartt package, and adding trailering with BlueCruise up to 10000lb/75mph. For someone with a regular cab short box, it's inherently an XL, so the only changes there for 27 are colors. As for what that particular truck lacks... the really high end tech like BlueCruise is the big one. Push button start/intelligent access. Remote start on the fob. Adaptive cruise control. 360 camera package. It still has dozens of computers and piles of systems. Still has the Ford Modem, the Security Package, Connectivity Package (no nav though), even Sirius 360L. Still has auto high beams, blind spot, lane keeping, and a bunch of lesser systems. Even a "basic" truck isn't all that basic anymore.

Other than lacking a turbo, what other major tech is absent on this F-150 compared to the rest of Ford Blue’s lineup?

The E-Transit's EV successor was cancelled, but the current model remains in production. A hybrid van is scheduled for 2029.

Leaving the exact characterization of China’s economy aside, most companies created and developing within one economic framework and structure won’t survive well if you put them in a totally different framework and structure. Ford would probably implode if you stuck it in North Korea. Square peg round hole. With that in mind, the Chinese auto industry is either an existential threat if we take down trade barriers OR its a totally diseased paper tiger. It can’t be both… Even if you think it is only a threat because of the government, China ain’t going anywhere.

That might be worth considering, but caution is advised as both BMW and Audi are undergoing significant restructuring BMW: "BMW is embarking on one of the most significant strategic reorganizations of its recent history as the German luxury automaker attempts to restore profitability, simplify its operations, and strengthen its position against increasingly aggressive global competition. Reuters reported that BMW’s shares have fallen more than 30% over the past year as investors have questioned the company’s ability to maintain profitability while investing heavily in electrification and new technology." Audi: "Audi, the premium automotive brand owned by the Volkswagen Group, has announced plans for a significant business restructuring. This decision follows a challenging first half of 2026, marked by a 10% year-on-year drop in revenue to €29.2 billion. For Audi, the ability to sustain its premium brand status while lowering its cost structure remains a key business objective. Investors are likely to watch how the company manages the delicate balance between cutting costs and investing in the new technologies necessary to stay relevant in a highly competitive global market."

Replacing a Ford product with a bmw or audi product. Ever heard the expression, out of the frying pan and into the fire? -
Yea, hybrid Ford vehicles are part of Blue division. It's mentioned on slide 4 of the earnings presentation
-
Blue would be my guess.

So guess you'll never buy another vehicle again then lol.
