5.0 F150 reg cabs are a hot ticket here in So Cal...limited allocation doesnt help...everyone wants to drop them put big wheels and tires and occasionally blowers....this may blow your mind...Dealers are getting 5k over on the trucks before mods......we do the suspension drops wheels and paint here along with Magnaflow exhaust...12k package with labor...funny...the reason people drive from hours away was due to availability or lack of....surprized they asked for a huge discount, because Id lay money they knew how hard that unit was to get....

Ford Says Even the Fathom EV’s Fanciest Trims Will Stay Under $40K -
It's the same overproduction playbook as their housing debacle. That crashed 6 years ago and the consequences have done tremendous damage to their domestic economy with no end in sight. As long as the CPP is dictating the direction, as opposed to a market economy, this problem will continue.

Yeah, that's why I said above that sure, sales could be better (for both Aviator and the brand as whole), but saying "how can anyone defend" a vehicle that's on pace for one of its best sales year in the model's history (looks to be on pace for 2nd or maybe 3rd highest) is a bit ridiculous. Especially when the counter argument is that this EV should be brought over that would clearly fail/do much worse sales-wise based on US EV sales numbers, before you account for the design (which is again, subjective).

Like the Panther mafia. Everybody wants a crown vic. But they never buy new ones, only cheap used ones.

Those people wanted big discounts on it, beyond the rebates. When there wasn't a discount, they walked away, which is OK. It's OK to ask for a discount, don't get me wrong there, but when it's asked on a much harder to find vehicle, it's less likely to happen. And if there were a bunch of these trucks around, then maybe, but that's not the case here. Plus, when someone drives from BFE, it's not likely because there's 50 vehicles like the one in question between there and here. The fellow who's buying it (sold it yesterday afternoon) specifically came in looking for a used, SuperCab, F-150 with a V8 and 6.5 foot box. I don't have any of those, either, because I'm in a very small store, our customers who have them don't cough them up very often, and when they do, they're sold before they even hit the lot. As it turned out, my only F-150 with a 6.5 foot box and V8 was this regular cab. Happy local customer, which is the most important thing for us.

We already know the CD6 expansion is being slowed to incorporate CE1 elements to reduce costs. That platform seems like it could be a candidate for uni-castings among other CE1 learnings. For BOF products I don’t see uni-castings but zonal electrical architecture to enable SDV, steer by wire and brake by wire seem very plausible.

I'm hoping to see how it does behind the 3.0L in a 2027 Raptor in about 5 months...
