I assume the larger pistons deliver more torque but can't rev as high as the ecoboost 2.7 V6 with smaller pistons.  Not a bad tradeoff for a truck engine.

New patent, could be fathom. Interesting, although it seems likely that this is a new concept that they are just using the Fathom shape to demonstrate. 

Just saw this - it's 100% an emissions thing. I went hunting for that a few weeks back myself.   Couldn't say on parts changes, my first 27 Super Duty is in a marshalling yard in Cottage Grove MN waiting for transport to my lot.

Exactly. Offer multiple mustang offerings in the form of a sedan and CUV to appeal to mustang fans who want a more usable rear seat. Let the coupe become a more pure version of itself. Sexier, better performing etc.

Agreed with all that.   But, a 2.7L I4 with 355/455 is pretty impressive.  That's more torque (and 130 more HP) than a 7.3L '97 PowerStroke diesel.

So the 5.7 has 402/428 while Ford's lowly 5.0 has 400/410 with less displacement.  And they have 5.0 versions with 480 and 500hp in the mustang.  Not impressed.   And the 6.6 seems totally unnecessary in a half ton (as would the ford 6.8) and just seems to be for bragging rights.
