Meaning production begins 4th quarter or deliveries 4th quarter? Might be early 2028 before customer deliveries start.

Sure, Blue and Pro are doing relatively well, but you can’t just ignore the continuing EV losses. They haven’t killed Ford but have certainly hurt it financially in a huge way.

From Farley himself: Ford Fathom Pickup Officially Launches In Q4 2027 "And at Louisville, we are preparing the launch of the Fathom, our first vehicle off the UEV platform. Rigorous testing and early supplier preparation are central to that effort. The launch remains on track for fourth quarter next year, yet yesterday I had the opportunity to drive our prototype," Farley said during Ford's Q3 earnings call with investors. "Wow, it completely blew me away. The 0-60, huge room inside, and the hands free ADAS experience was like something I've never experienced. Fathom is really a breakthrough product."

A loss is a loss regardless as if it a write-down or “production loss”.

My F150 XL doesn't have front sensors or camera, both of which I have failures on the Aviator. The BlueCruise, I believe this to be a software issue, while using the system if it changes lanes or you tell it to change lanes all works fine except when your no longer using BlueCruise the turn signal tap (flash 3x's) no longer functions until you cycle the ignition. (no BC on XL) If you use the key FOB to open the tailgate the passenger mirror doesn't fold out automatically, using the button on the tailgate or dash the mirror folds out automatically, another software issue? (no folding mirrors on XL). Ford has stated they are moving the camera software inhouse...good luck with that. Other non tech issues, parking brake error warning on dash, seat restraint error on Lincoln App and not enough paint applied to cover up primer on passenger side 'B' pillar, debris left on sheet metal before paint and one spot on the tailgate where the factory buff off all of the clearcoat so I've got a silver dollar size dull area. But it's only an $83K vehicle so I guess my expectations are too high.

J.D. Power's data suggest recent Audis are neither nice cars (APEAL, see below) nor good cars (dependability, refer to akirby's chart above):
-
Trade barriers ain't going to make much of a difference. Them Chinese automakers are an existential threat to any American, Japanese, European, or South Korean automaker that fails to innovate with products and processes
-
JD Power disagrees.

The difference with China is the auto industry was subsidized heavily by the gov't (and I don't mean consumer rebates - I mean R&D and manufacturing) and virtually forced by the gov't to overproduce for years and years. They are a threat because they have been subsidized so long and they are desperate to sell vehicles. Which means they are willing to lose money if necessary just to move inventory (and probably backstopped by the gov't) and undercutting domestic prices. What would happen of Toyota starting selling vehicles here at $5k below cost?

There's no gettin' around a stock Mustang's propensity for understeer. That's why it's underwhelming for autocross and track days. A few weeks ago I did a track day event at Summit Point Raceway (Jefferson and Shenandoah circuits) in a Mustang RTR Spec 3 provided by a Ford dealership & a tuner in Northern Virginia. This is not the factory $6520 package for Mustang Ecoboost mentioned in this thread but a hardcore performance package for Mustang GT. RTR Spec 3 might be the best Mustang ever for autocross and track days: exceptionally well balanced, willing to rotate on throttle lift off, and incredibly communicative. You can get most of the RTR Tactical Performance Suspension components a la carte if you don't want to shell out the $35,000+ for the full Spec 3 package
