TomServo92
seems the trend is to "upsize"..wonder what the ramifications will be for the future fusion....follow suit with THIS chassis? What do you mean? The current Fusion already uses THIS chassis. Are you asking if the next Fusion will stretch CD3 even more? So the Fusion is on a stretched 6 chassis already? sorry...me bad.....
LincolnFan
Now if the MCE on the Ford triplets brings them up to the MAzda 6 level, the CD3 quad will definitely set the Midsize market on fire.
smok
Very nice indeed. I do like them all..... I do see a Toyota in the front, Lexus in the profile, and a Sebring in the back.
joihan777
The wagon is a GREAT idea. It'd make it easier to move out of the minivan as a family car.
NickF1011
The wagon is a GREAT idea. It'd make it easier to move out of the minivan as a family car. Well there's already a wagon 6 now. Unfortunately it is not selling very well. It doesn't look like the wagon will continue to be sold in the US. As far as wagons go, it's not too bad looking. suv_guy_19
I had heard the same, that the wagon was cancelled. It looks pretty nice though, better then I expected. The wagon was canceled for 2008. At least thats what the new model info we had here a while back said. akirby
So the Fusion is on a stretched 6 chassis already? sorry...me bad..... Stretched AND widened.
Edstock
IIRC, this Mazda is on the up-graded Fusion platform, and is longer and wider than its predecessor.

To my memory, no MCE has ever produced a turnaround in fortunes. It's like trying to say Ford should fear the second coming of the G6, Sebring, etc. once they're refreshed too. Blueblood
Love it, 3.7 and AWD and I might have found my next car.. Sure about the chassis thuogh? I thought it was to use some form of EUCD???? Can't wait to see it in the flesh..
ANTAUS
I believe the decision to use EUCD with FOE, was sort of recent, which was too late for Mazda to jump onto that bandwagon. SO most possibly you will see FOE Mondeo take the first lead, then the Fusion redesigned onto that, and have Mazda follow soon with the 6. The exterior looks pretty good from the renders, if they do a great job on fixing the interior, the Fusion will kick much more ass than it does now. Pioneer
The exterior looks pretty good from the renders, if they do a great job on fixing the interior, the Fusion will kick much more ass than it does now. How will the Fusion kick ass by fixing the Mazda6 interior? They don't share any parts other than the basic platform.

Anthony
LOVE the wagon. If they don't bring that to the US, I will be disappointed. 2nd fav is the 5 door. The sedan is nice as well, but I like the rear styling of the 5 door better. Great job Mazda!
one2gamble
Is Mazda even a big enough company to produce TWO MZ6's? I can understand not selling a car everywhere but I dont see the point of producing more than one version of the same model. I dont even see the point for Ford let alone Mazda. old_fairmont_wagon
Anyone care to fill me in here... Is this Mazda6 iteration going to be built at AA where the last gen one was? Or, is it moving to one of the existing CD3 plants? If so, what will fill the spare capacity at AA? Not mustang as its numbers are down YOY, even with the S.E.s

Isn't AA pretty much considered Mazda's plant?

It's like trying to say Ford should fear the second coming of the G6, Sebring, etc. once they're refreshed too. While not a DRASTIC turnaround, the 99 MCE on the Mustang increased sales of the SN95 dramatically. In fact, prior to 99, the F-body actually outsold it a few times. It's not unheard of. pcsario
That wasn't a MCE, that was an entire reskin.
