fordmantpw
OK, this is getting rather worrisome!
Edstock
Less than 6,000. Remember the 3.8 manifold?
Anthony
I told you guys not to post those burning CRV pictures back in the day. Auto-Karma. Next it'll be suddenly accelerating Fusions.
elmy311
Get it together Ford. This is getting ridiculous. I can't wait to see how many recalls the new Fusion will have! They better have all the bugs out of it when I buy in April!
Edgy Girl
um, 2012 or 2013?
fordtech1
This took a long time to get around. I posted this on Sep 6th, guess I should have put "FIRE" in bold to get attention. I am surprised it took so long for the media to pick this up. It is only 5499 vehicles, but anything with Fire creates bad publicity. Interesting enough, people have no idea how many things can start a fire in their car.
RichardJensen
Although it shouldn't. After all, you're basically propelled down the road by means of thousands of explosions per minute, fueled by a tank full of poisonous liquids and incredibly volatile fumes. fordtech1
um, 2012 or 2013? Its 2012 Edges built from Sept 2nd 2010 to Oct 31st 2011.
Edgy Girl
Thanks!! One less thing to worry about in my new Edge Loving Ecoboost so far
fordtech1
Thanks!! One less thing to worry about in my new Edge Loving Ecoboost so far I wouldn't worry about your Edge. The Edge has been pretty trouble free even starting in 07 with the exception of the AWD ptu issues. The 2011+ Edge has been very trouble free minus Mytouch complaints. Compared to ten years ago, no comparison. The Nasser years....ugh. I made a lot more money off those vehicles, but lost a lot of customers. JasonM
This is old news from Sept 4th. A thread already exists on here started on Sept 6th. There were no fires, just the risk of a fire due to a Tier 2 supplier performing an unauthorized manual assembly process which was found by the Tier 1 supplier and reported to Ford. Love my Edge - had an 2007 AWD with no tech issues....only thing I started to dislike was the fuel economy as gas prices rose.

And yet so few other vehicles manage to have fire problems...

jpd80
Let's get real people, this could be a problem but it's a dicky fuel pulse dampener that MIGHT LEAK... Chances are that Ford can get on top of this very quickly.

On this level (potential fires in small batches), you're looking at a very common reason for recalling a vehicle. I'll have to see if NHTSA has any statistics…
