Anthony
I think the lack of a traditional bumper is what is so weird looking about it. I couldn't put my finger on it but you nailed it. I think it will look a lot better from other angles with the rest of the vehicle revealed. At least they're not playing it safe. Maybe the proportions will help when we see the whole thing. Shock is wearing off... it might grow on me. Hope the ass end isn't as awful as the new Escalade. NLPRacing
I'm kind of digging it, can't wait to see the whole thing. Much better than the current one. Hopefully we see the 2015 Expedition soon.
brucelinc
OMG! You could have warned us before posting that - nearly made me lose my lunch. Sure makes the MKT look good, though.
rmc523
Wow, it looked so much more sleek, and almost Range Rover-like in that teaser shot....I'm sure they were limited in what they could do given the existing hard points and such, though. It'll hold it over until the full redesign. As others have also said, perhaps seeing the entire vehicle will make the proportions and such look better than that pic. Agreed about the rear end, PD.....I too dislike the back end of the Escalade.
SoonerLS
Kill. It. With. Fire. Let's nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. I hope that's just an unflattering angle, but...
akirby
Don't forget - this is the competition. Between the 2 I like the Navi better.

Anthony
I don't know, the Caddy looks much more elegant in that view then the new Navi does in the sole picture we have. Just too fussy. I'll withhold any more until I see the entire thing. The entire package may be very good looking.
spotdog14
I really hope that the new Expedition just carries over the front end of the new F-150.

rmc523
My guess is designers would've preferred to go with a more sleek look with the details/edges more curved (a la MKZ or MKC) than what we're seeing on the Navigator, which ultimately I think would result in a better looking vehicle (more sleek like the new Range Rover).....however, at the same time, I think such a design combined with the existing body probably wouldn't work well together, which ended up with the more blocky styling elements we're seeing. At least that's my guess.
Gworl
I think it will look much better in a dark color with all that chrome up front. In tuxedoblack it might look "bad" in a good kind of way.

bossman351
Great mines think a like. I saw this on Chris Doane's FB page. I also said it looks like a transformer. But after looking closely at the pic, I think the hood is released. It might look a tad better with it completely closed.

It looks like a Transformer. . Kinda my thought too. The upper grille is a lot. The lower grille in addition to the upper is just too much. The current Navigator has the same problem. The lower grille added to the already in-your-face upper grille just takes it way overboard. But, I'll wait to see what it looks like fully revealed. It's not like the large luxury SUV category is full of good lookers.
jesster1228
I think what makes it look odd in the pic is that the hood is popped open making the front end look taller than it really is. I think it's an improvement.

I think it's an improvement. Definitely an improvement, but I still think the aged bones under the skin are holding back a lot of potential that could be realized with a clean-sheet design.
SoonerLS
Dammit--I've seen that face before, in a bad sci-fi movie from the '80s, I think.
bzcat
Worst facelift ever... This reinforces my opinion that Ford should have just buried the 2015 update and accelerate the brand new 2017 model. NickF1011
Worst facelift ever... This reinforces my opinion that Ford should have just buried the 2015 update and accelerate the brand new 2017 model. At the very least, improvements under the hood and interior make it a worthwhile investment over the 2014 until the new one is ready.
