jpd80
The best annual sales of this generation Focus was in its first year 2012 and from that time on, sales have steadily declined, 2011: 175,711 (C170) 2012: 245,922. 2013: 234.570, 2014: 219,634 2015: 202,478 There is still two and a half years to go until the next product cycle is due will Ford defend its product with a big on the run fix or try to get through with the car as it stands and just enough tweaks to avoid warranty issues... It's painful to watch that happening.. Edited January 9, 2016 by jpd80

YT90SC
What is painful is that until those numbers started to show a trend, corporate could have given a flying "f" about the issues with the DPoS6.

akirby
The 2012 was all new. The current model is a 2016. Who does an all new vehicle every 4 years?
MKII
I agree 100% MY2012 North American Focus offically launched March 2011 if I remember correctly, so I would think it safe to assume MK4 will start production March 2017 or at least Q2 of 2017. Unless there are big delays getting the Mexican plant (Cuautitlan) ready for the C519 - next Focus.

Biker16
Biker... Forgetting the facelift for 15? 3 year cycle is pretty good. the formula As I remember it is Facelift after 3 years, total redesign after 5 the current gen car debuted in spring of 2011, facelifts in early 2015, and total redesign in CY 2018 the Focus has had a facelift after 4 years and a redesign at year 7. BTW the All new Cruze hatchback. Edited January 11, 2016 by Biker16
Biker16
Maybe not, but it could be the reason people never buy a Ford again. or the 3.8 head gasket issues, or the rollovers, or engine fires, or MFT, or the CD4E issues, or the 6F35 issues, or name any other Ford scandal of the last 15 years. Pioneer
I have to ask, Biker. Do you work for the manufacturer of the Focus transmission? Your defending it is totally illogical. Everybody thinks it's a bad design except you.

Introduced in 2011, refresh in 2013, refresh in 2015, replaced in 2018. This is the exception due to merging vehicles onto one new polatform and because Europe gets their way, Fiesta goes first than then Focus. akirby
Fiesta and Focus have to be the 2 lowest margin vehicles so it makes sense they would prioritize Fusion, Escape and Edge first.

In any regard, it's still a seven year cycle and I think we would struggle to show any Ford with a five year product cycle no matter what some PR dude may have said. Keep in mind that national dealer stock heavily favors the SE at around 80% with S and Titanium around 10% each. That's probably why ATPs are up around $22K even though sales are down. Not bad for an older car. Edited January 12, 2016 by jpd80

Everybody thinks it's a bad design except you. I don't but the histeria of the DCT is out of hand. Everybody doesn't mean shit if they are wrong, or in this case reactionary, Like ford didn't have a history of faulty transmissions. or the unpleasant fact, that the Focus trails all competitors in interior space, and in fit and finish. Anthony
... or the unpleasant fact, that the Focus trails all competitors in interior space, and in fit and finish. I want to disagree, but I found another instance of fitment issues on my Focus yesterday that I never noticed before. The passenger side front door is badly misaligned. It sticks out about 1/4 - 1/3 of an inch at the bottom farther than the rear door behind it. I never noticed it until now (when there was some road salt on the paint and made the gap really stick out). I googled it and a bunch of posts from Focus forums said this was pretty common unfortunately. That and some very disappointing interior fitment issues makes me wonder if rattling is going to start sooner rather than later. The hatch is off-centered too. Granted, the car has been drama free and rides solid. So, I cannot complain about the quality of the parts...just how some of them were put together. I don't want to complain...as this is my first Ford in a while and I do love the car despite the quality issues it has. As long as it doesn't break down on me, I can live with most of them. BUT, it was stuff like this that drove me away from Ford back 10-15 years ago. Edited January 14, 2016 by Intrepidatious
