What makes fwd better?  With electric motors it makes no difference where they are placed.

Since this thread has been talking about motors for the 2027 model year F150, has anybody heard anything about the status of the 3.5L high output?  I have seen some speculation that changes were going to occur for 2027, but I haven’t found anything verifiable about it. I’m not optimistic, but this is the speculation:   Anticipated Mechanical Upgrades Stronger Block Material: Ford is moving the H.O. engine toward a high-strength Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) block to endure intense cylinder pressures.  Upgraded Internals: The motor features fully forged internal components to handle higher sustained boost levels reliably.  Advanced Turbo Management: Upgrades include revamped cooling channels, faster boost control actuators, and a rally-inspired anti-lag system to eliminate turbo lag in off-road terrains.  Refined Dual-Injection: An expanded port- and direct-injection strategy significantly reduces carbon buildup on intake valves, boosting long-term engine durability.  Redesigned Intercooler: New airflow designs prevent condensation buildup, resolving a legacy weak point in the EcoBoost architecture.    Expected Power Gains Ford is restructuring the engine from the inside out. While official production numbers are strictly guarded, leaked dealership order guides and industry analysts expect a massive performance leap:  Horsepower: Estimated to jump from the traditional 450 hp up to 550–575 hp. Torque: Expected to climb to an impressive 710–750 lb-ft, making it the highest-torque gasoline V6 engine in Raptor history. 

Back to the subject of an inline 6.  Just thinking about the 300 6 which always gets included in the "Best Engine" articles or so it seems.  Hagerty just had a piece about "best value" pickups that currently sell in $15g range and of course F-150 with a 300 made the list. Recognizing the length of it is a negative, What would it take to upgrade it with current technology?  Fuel system and all the associated electronics that did not exist in the 70's.  Hmn maybe forget about that stuff🤔

Agree on the "Meth-Ho" comment..you have to pay attention. But the MKZ is a great vehicle with the 3.0.  Another failure in my opinion to market something that should have generated a lot more sales...if only people new about it.

An interesting story regarding GVW matters in the scope of government/law-enforcement.   GM stopped making 3/4 ton suburbans, and the Secret Service bought an undisclosed number of them before the final production run was complete. These models were for up-armoring for protection detail, and were stockpiled to hold over until a suitable replacement could be found.     As those quantities diminished, the Secret Service went back to GM and told them they would need a special run of three-quarter ton suburbans for this purpose, and they said they wouldn’t do it.   Ford stepped in and said they would do a special run of expeditions to handle the GVW requirements, and interestingly, GM had a change of heart on building them suburbans.
