Didn't think about all that before reading your post.
Biker16, would you say the influence of legacy automakers and oil companies is keepin' EV from growing faster in Europe too? Look at how EV market share has been doin' in Planet Europe, Planet America, and Planet Red China from 2010 to 2023:

I want American companies to compete, not hide behind artificial barriers That Reduce competition, and make our country less competitive over the medium and long term.
My Fear is that the decline in US Automaker Global sales and revenue we saw 20-30 years ago will accelerate in the age of electrified mobility, and the hyper focus of government policy on sustaining these corporations at the expense of the general welfare of the American people increases political instability and dims the future of this country.
Am I wrong?
Thanks for sharing this.
I found this online, and it seems the development was far linear. Starting at NASA in 1960s to breakthroughs in the 1980s and 90s.

I find it interesting how history keeps repeating itself, almost like people don't learn from their mistakes.
But 80s futurism is in right now. I just believe a slightly chunkier, more mechanical look would compliment the beefy off-road tires and raised ride height better than a super rounded off and sleek design.
I've never hit the switch on mine. I'm 5'-10", so a bit shorter than you guys.
I also have a 2 door, so maybe there's more room since I think the front doors are a bit longer. I honestly couldn't even tell you where the light switch is exactly...I don't think I've touched it since I put it in auto when we got it.
Yeah, the height will probably do it! I'm 6'0. Probably just depends how the seat is positioned, etc. They definitely put that switch right on the corner/angled just right to get hit
Friend of mine who has had his around a year said he’d done it only a couple times too. I bet I did it six times over a long weekend, but I’m also 6’-4” so I don’t know if my height might be part of it.
Yeah, I've done that a few times over the years....
I just had the camera one done and the rear suspension thing done. And literally the same day I picked mine up from that, I got the seatbelt and fuel pump ones in the mail lol.
