An interesting story regarding GVW matters in the scope of government/law-enforcement. GM stopped making 3/4 ton suburbans, and the Secret Service bought an undisclosed number of them before the final production run was complete. These models were for up-armoring for protection detail, and were stockpiled to hold over until a suitable replacement could be found. As those quantities diminished, the Secret Service went back to GM and told them they would need a special run of three-quarter ton suburbans for this purpose, and they said they wouldn’t do it. Ford stepped in and said they would do a special run of expeditions to handle the GVW requirements, and interestingly, GM had a change of heart on building them suburbans.

I do, they were as follows: 1997–1999 (F-250 Light Duty Marketed as a light 3/4-ton "heavy half" version of the tenth-generation F-150, featuring distinctive 7-lug wheels, a heavier frame, and an upgraded axle. 2000–2003 (F-150 7700 SeriesRenamed to clear up consumer confusion with the newly released Super Duty F-250 models, continuing with the 7,700 lb GVW payload package. Pretty short lived in the grand scheme of things.

Ford has not produced a FWD based EV as of yet, rhetorical or not, it is a question as valid as yours. -
It was a rhetorical question to point out that Ford simply has different strengths and priorities.

While Ford does well in its home market, Kia's focus is oriented to the ROW markets: 2.28 million units for the Kia brand versus Ford 1.33 million units (all nameplates) outside of the US. -
Curious why Ford can do a F150, Super Duty, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Ranger, Transit, Aviator, Navigator, Expedition and a cheap EV truck and Kia can't?
