From today's Detroit News. Probably behind a paywall, so here are the main points. Ford Motor Co. has tapped a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration veteran for a new chief auto safety officer role, the Dearborn automaker confirmed to The Detroit News on Thursday. David Hines steps into the position on Monday, reporting to Steve Croley, Ford's chief policy officer and general counsel. Based out of Washington, D.C., he'll be responsible for the automaker's global product safety compliance, governance and strategy. Hines most recently served for more than 13 years as director of NHTSA's Office of Crash Avoidance Standards, according to his LinkedIn profile. Hines also will lead a cross-departmental team from engineering, digital design and software, quality, manufacturing and purchasing to ensure product safety design and quality throughout a product's lifecycle. Hines isn't a stranger to Ford. Earlier in his career, he was a product design engineer with vehicle electronics supplier Visteon Corp. and Ford, partaking in on-site development assignments of the Ford Freestyle SUV and 500 sedan. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2026/08/20/ford-chief-auto-safety-officer-david-hines-nhtsa/91390537007/

As others have stated here, if you want a Raptor, then the Ranger Raptor is the best bang for the buck. The F-100 Raptor could continue that with it being the most affordable Raptor.
-
Agree on your assessment. Meh, Ford itself has said they want to expand the Raptor lineup, so I wouldn't put it past them.

With the loss of Escape hybrid, it would only seem natural to bring forth Bronco Sport hybrid....maybe on the redesign. -
I doubt there will be a Raptor f100 because it's focused on affordability.

I think a Lincoln version of the Bronco as some sort of a Range Rover competitor is an obvious move, but given Lincoln's market presence I don't think it will be terribly successful. Nonetheless I can't see it costing much to get to market, so why not? At this point anything will help.

And the TTP trucks will likely have multiple cab/bed configurations like the F-150. This seems like a great move having the Ranger reincarnation under F-Series. I wonder if there will be a F-100 Raptor? Ford does seem intent on breeding more Raptors. Looking forward to watching all this unfold over the next few years.
