GM might see the writing on the wall: supply chains that run through China are politically untenable at this point. I work in the economic development field with a lot federal funding, and it's actually surprising how much protectionist trade and procurement policy has transcended through the Trump 1 > Biden > Trump 2 era without being modified or revoked. No matter who is elected in 2028, I can't see these protections being revoked due to the potential political backlash from a lot of groups with a vested interest in domestic production.

The Bronco is simply a much better quality vehicle. Also safer.

And you'd lose a huge part of manufacturing in the USA which wouldn't bode well for the country, but hey you want to buy some EV from China, so its all good...fuck everyone else. 

My buddy has one and has three different open recalls on it-I have two on my Bronco, but at least I don't have to worry about it catching on fire lol

I guess that is possible but that’s a huge stretch of all-new even for Ford.  I suppose it could be a cheaper GTD.
