Latest incident was kinda strange. I made a trip to Lowe's yesterday morning and when I got home I noticed that my desktop had no sound. I use a Cyber Acoustics system that IMO has pretty impressive sound quality. Anyway, after trying several other things including a different speaker setup I discovered that the problem was a tripped arc fault breaker that controls the lights and outlets in the wall where I had the speaker transformer plugged in. Not 100% sure why it tripped but according to the text messages on my phone from First Energy there was about a 15 min power outage while I was gone. After resetting the breaker everything seems to be working fine. BTW, the desktop is plugged into a different outlet on a separate circuit. Over the past few weeks there have been more days than not when we have had some sort of power outage. There are storms forecast again for today and I have no doubt my clocks will be blinking again before the day is over. I fully expect to be replacing a freezer or refrigerator at some point due to a fried electric motor. I'm hoping that the Generac transfer switch is easing the transition from generator power back to utility power which should reduce the chances of a power surge but the generator can't compensate for other stuff that happens like low voltage incidents from the utility company or lightning strikes.
