No major Chinese banks appear to have gone insolvent this week. While there have been instances of
smaller banks being absorbed or collapsing, particularly in rural areas, and some shadow banks like
Zhongzhi facing issues, these events have not involved the core, major banks in China.
The important part of negotiations is to keep the Chinese at the table for as long as possible,
even if this is the opening discussions, I’m hopeful that that Bessant will come away with some
sort of win for Trump to announce.
Thats laughable. The CCP won’t swallow their pride and take the L and it’s going to crush their economy. It’s already starting with several major Chinese banks going insolvent this week.
So even if you take the death penalty off the table you still have life in prison. Still doesn’t stop them. Criminals are criminals and they’re either stupid or don’t care.
I agree with the last part but the first part is silly. If she was willing to do something “if asked nicely” then why not offer that to resolve the tariff situation? Makes no sense. Thats why it’s called negotiation.
Disagree completely. That’s liberal talk based on bad data because most liberals don’t actually want to execute anyone. For punishment to be effective, studies have shown that the probability of getting caught and sentenced are just as important, if not more so. Most hard core criminals know perfectly well that their chances of being convicted and executed are about as low as winning the lottery. So yeah, they laugh all the way to the bank, drawing others to emulate.
I enjoy driving so much that makes me not value these types of features very much, though also know others can be polar opposites. Anyway, initially it seemed dependent mostly on age, where younger buyers are more likely to accept less driving control while older buyers prefer to remain in charge, but there is evidence that some younger people not only prefer lower-cost vehicles, but also have concerns over privacy, greater vehicle complexity, etc. A little automation makes sense to me, but the high cost charged by Tesla for FSD, as example, shows most buyers are not willing to buy the feature. Take rate for Tesla FSD remains fairly low IIRC.
So what’s your thoughts on the Chinese Bronco vehicle, maybe Equator or Equator Sport based?
Thinking it’s a localised platform and probably suits better for costs and parts supply..
