This is probably one reason Farley is trying to being back experienced engineers. Far too many recall fixes are not fixing the problem.

Built Ford Tough: https://share.google/q2yZF3n25ks1eAXOJ But I was watching what turned out to be a a Ford Pro TV ad at the local watering hole and they showed some F350's hauling a backhoe on a flatbed trailer which is a joke. Wow, really impressive huh?! And they showed some other applications and a bunch of Transits and they stated in so many written and spoken words "The #1 seller of commercial vehicles." But do you think they could have showed some medium duties? Noooooooooooooooooooo! It's like they don't want to give the wrong impression by implying they're in mediums for the long haul because they're not sure they're going to be making mediums much longer. Well at least that's the impression I got. Forgetting the U-Haul story for a moment, the CTDOT just bought a bunch of F750 dumps on which plows and sanders were mounted for this last winter. Some local municipalities piggy backed on the State bid. And while I think of it, how did Ford win and not have Peterbilt underbid them? Or did Ford "give" the trucks away? Asplundh Tree Removal has a bunch of F750's. Like I said before, I dare Ford to drop the mediums. The tree guy I used has a bunch of Class 1 thru 5 and several F750's because of commonality/dealer familiarity. Take that away, and Ford's light duty F-series will suffer dramatically. There, I said that for the umpteenth time!

Where I was over the weekend the outside temp reached 103°F on Thursday afternoon and about 98°F here several afternoons during the weekend. Had I been home I probably would have turned on the AC a time or two. Approaching 100 hours now without power from the utility co. Based on their online outage map I am in an area of less than one square mile that is the only spot within 15 miles of here without power. Ridiculous. 😡 Thankfully the outside temp is only 71°F right now so I've got windows open.

Ford Recalls 66,000 Hybrid SUVs Pedestrians May Not Hear Coming - Autoblog Ford has recalled over 66,000 hybrid SUVs for a faulty pedestrian alert system, which could pose a risk to pedestrians. The issue affects certain model years of the popular Ford Explorer and the Lincoln Nautilus. This recall is an expansion of a previous recall issued for the same thing in 2025, as the automaker’s previous fix was not effective. Over 70 warranty claims have already been submitted in relation to this problem, so here’s everything worth knowing about the new Ford recall. In a recall report published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford has traced the problem down to the following models: 2025-2027 Ford Explorer Hybrid (18,242 vehicles) 2024-2027 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid (48,141 vehicles)

Skylands makes me think of open land with big sky. Think Montana and "Big Sky Country." Or, think out West (Utah/Arizona) where you can see for miles with minor off road trails (ie gravel/dirt). It's not rock crawling like a Bronco, but places it would be nice to have a high clearance vehicle to get off the beaten path. -

Lost power Friday evening with the storms that rolled through, literally right after the worst of it moved out 😒 got a harbor freight 6500 watt generator first thing in the morning to power 2 chest freezers, 2 refrigerators and my well pump. Had to install a makeshift transfer switch for the well because no store around had the actual equipment I needed. I’ll make it right soon once I can get the correct panel. Power came back Sunday afternoon. -

I think akirby's thoughts about the 1/2" hose out of the barrel and the 3/8" hose in is likely spot on. The power needed to tow is also not constant. When going up a hill, that hose may be 5/8", but going down hill with a load, the hose is shut off. My guess is that the engine is going to be sized to keep a steady battery charge on flat ground with the max load in tow. So if towing 14k lbs on flat ground is a 1/2" hose, that's what it will dictate the engine size it gets. You'll dip into the battery on uphills, and put a tiny bit of juice back in going down hills. Speed is also a major factor in MPG when towing. I can see a 2+ MPG variation from 60-70 when towing our fifth wheel. So, that will also be taken into account for engine size. Is this ideal? No, but the engine will be able to recharge when you stop for breaks, fill up with gas, etc. I don't think you'll really need to charge the battery separately. It will be tough to work out the kinks, but I think they'll make it work.
