Anyone read a good book lately?
ScottLeonard replied to jpvbs's topic in Lounge: Off Topic Discussion
Great option! Recently I read an amazing book! It's called "A Journey Through the Space of Possibility" and written by the brilliant author Jane Smith. This is a fantastic story about a group of researchers trying to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos and their own consciousness. The book is not suitable for everyone, I’ll tell you right away. -

Slowest-Selling New Cars: Lincoln at the Top
akirby replied to joseodiaga4's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
Lincoln only builds what dealers order although they can dictate some product mixes. So it’s more likely dealers aren’t ordering correctly. But don’t forget price. Mach-e was selling poorly until they lowered the price. Things like that are temporary. -

I cancelled my order for my 2024 Nautilus. It has been assigned a VIN but has been on hold for scheduling for over 6 weeks. By the time it is built and delivered the 2025 will be showing up on dealer lots and I would incur a model year depreciation. I ordered a 2025 Black Label FHEV White Platinum with Redwood interior, tow package, cargo accessories and mat package. And now, the wait begins again!

Hello, If anyone has the above, can you tell me the size of the spare tire for the Edge. This most likely would have the 20" rims. I have seen several different sizes mentioned on various websites so trying to make sure I have the correct information. Would the spare tire be any different for the standard 19" rims? Thank you

Hello everyone, I have this set of Morimoto headlights on my '22 F250 that originally came with halogen headlights. https://www.morimotohid.com/morimoto-super-duty-20-xb-led-headlights?quantity=1 Recently, the RH side has developed an issue where I am getting an intermittent hyperflash indication on the dash while the turn signal itself operates as normal, both in sequential and "regular" modes. This happens both with the "drl harness" connected or not connected. The issue is real intermittent, sometimes I will go several days without seeing it, other times it won't go away all day. This has NEVER happened with the LH headlight. This is what I have done: Replaced both rear LED blinker bulbs, just in case. Reset the BCM. Re-enabled then "re-disabled" the front turn signal outage warning. Did not seem to make a difference. Any ideas what else I could troubleshoot?

Slowest-Selling New Cars: Lincoln at the Top
joseodiaga4 replied to joseodiaga4's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
yeah, but also the fact that sales are up can be a little bit deceiving because last year wasn't a good year in terms of sales. IMO is something to keep an eye on but as you say we need all the data. The thing is as you say, it seems to be driven by one vehicle, the Navigator, both the regular and L models are on the list. The other problem is if the stock is selling slow, Lincoln doesn't know their customers and started to manufacture models that aren't what the customers are going after -

The problem is most of these jobs are unskilled labor. Physically demanding but so was digging ditches back in the day. In the open market these types of jobs just aren’t worth as much as other types of jobs requiring more specialized skill or experience. The union wants to force higher wages but the only way to do that without losing jobs is if you control the entire market - which was exactly the case 40 yrs ago but not today especially with a global economy. Thats why they want to take over the transplants but even if they do there are global options and more companies will simply move production elsewhere. It’s like trying to force $30/hr wages for fast food cashiers. At those prices it’s cheaper to use kiosks. -

Yet Q1 sales are up 31% over last year and the new Nautilus is just trickling in. Stop blindly believing statistics without all the data. High inventory levels will I crease time to turn even with strong sales. It could also be driven by one vehicle. That’s why you need more context. The inverse is time to turn could be super low because you can’t get enough vehicles and sales could be very low. Or in stock vehicles are selling slow but many are doing special orders. Lies, damn lies and statistics. -

I have a '24 on order. It has been assigned a VIN for almost 2 months but still isn't scheduled for production. I am going to my dealer today to cancel that order and put one in for the '25. By the time I receive the '24 the '25 will be quickly following and I would incur a model year depreciation almost immediately. -
Now 1 EV Fast Charging Station for Every 15 Gas Stations in USA

Most people who own older homes also don’t normally buy EVs due to income. Plus there are work arounds that have been developed for houses with 100 Amp service. Some electric companies offer incentives/rebates to upgrade service. Here is one example: https://www.firstenergycorp.com/help/electric-vehicles/nj-ev/new-jersey-ev.html -

Because of profit margins with smaller electronic devices, where most batteries have been used. I'm sure there are companies in the USA now working on different types of battery cells due to the demand. -

Maybe we do need more context but IMO it is a big problem. models aren’t selling, that could be a lot of factors but IMO is that Lincoln is sadly less relevant to consumers and also all the multiple recalls. The terribly slow update as you say isn’t helping -

I am not a member of a union and I think my wage is pretty good. My position is you would not be able to get good employees if you weren’t paying a sufficient wage to entice them to work there. You may get poor quality workers to work for less, but your product will suffer because of it, as would sales. As such, your wage has to be commensurate with a quality workforce. The old saying, you get what you pay for, applies to many things. I would also argue the high-quality union workers would likely be making more money if they weren’t limited by the contract, and those problem workers would not be making the same amount of money as the good workers or they would be gone from the company. -
What's your favorite modern Ford color?
Alex D. replied to DeluxeStang's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Atlas Blue! It bears some resemblance to Velocity and Lightning Blue. Agree with jod on that color on the Everest. We saw several Everests in that color on a recent trip to NZ.
