2024 Nautilus Availability

Does anyone here know or will comment on when the 2024 Nautilus will be available? , other than early 2024. And or first drive review’s available?

I can't answer, but there's progress. I just got today an email from Lincoln saying that my 2024 Nautilus has been scheduled for production the week of Nov. 13. It gives me an order tracking link with 6 steps. First was when I got my order confirmation last April. Second was today, when I got my scheduled-to-be-built date. Third will be when it is in production. Fourth is when it has been built. Fifth is when it is being shipped. And sixth is when it has arrived at the dealership and is in final prep. Other than the long wait between the first and second stage, fifth is going to be the longest of the remaining steps. Transit is likely to take some number of weeks getting it to the port, getting it across the ocean, and then getting it delivered to the dealer.

 

Here's what I got:

I submitted my order on April 22. I was notified on September 25 it had been scheduled. The online tracker indicates it was built October 29.

One thing escapeman mentioned has also baffled me. We are now well past Job 1 date and production Nautiluses (Nautili?) have been featured around the country at dealerships for folks to look at and maybe even sit in. When I wonder will the first drive reviews be out? My guess is that Lincoln wants to time those for closer to their being available for sale at dealerships in North America, so probably around the end of the year. Would be nice to know, though.

There are a couple of things going on.  Oakville is winding down production of the 2023 Nautilus and will build it out by the end of December.  China began building the 2024 Nautilus in mid-September.  

 

As of this morning, the EPA still hasn't issued MPG ratings for the 2024 Nautilus.  Likewise, NHTSA and IIHS have not issued crash test ratings.  Until these two key pieces of data are available, there will be no window stickers for the vehicles and this would keep them from clearing customs.

 

Since the plant in China is near their east coast, vehicles will go via cargo ship to the US and Canada on our west coasts.  Once in North America, the vehicles will have to ship via rail and finally by convoy to the dealerships.  I would anticipate the shipping to take several months dependent upon your location.  Everything I have read said they will be available in the first quarter of 2024.

MPG ratings and NHTSA/IIHS crash test ratings should have no bearing on U.S. Customs. The vehicles can be shipped and arrive at U.S. dealerships and then held until the compliance standards are met, after which, the appropriate Window Stickers will be provided to the dealerships and the vehicles available for sale.

Thank you for the clarification. I knew they couldn't be sold but I also thought they couldn't be brought into the country without those items.  I learned something new.

I got to sit in one at my dealer a few weeks ago. It looks really great in person and is quite comfortable. I sat in both drivers seat and rear seat. Rear seat is quite roomy. The Lincoln spokesman spent quite a while showing how the dash functions. The engine was running all that time and most of the time, it was hard to tell it was running. It had the 2.0. He said they aren't allowing test drives at that time because of very few fully complete  vehicles and wern't taking any chances.

I put a deposit on an Aviator that was in transit, but after several weeks and zero movement, I went with a 23 Nautilus Black Label that had just arrived. So far, I'm very pleased with it. Getting the 2.7 V6 was worth staying with the 23 IMO.

After building 578,383 MKX/NAUTILUS production ended at OAC Wednesday, December 6th. It was a great run and I hope you guys get your Chinese Nautilus shipped in a timely manner.

Thanks jay for all you and your fellow autoworkers have done to make the MKX/Nautilus so great. I wish the redesigned Nautilus was still going to be made by you all, but at least there will still be a great Ford/Lincoln product available in North America that meets my needs (luxury two-row, mid-sized crossover), and my excitement of getting the 2024 Nautilus I have on order early next year will be layered with some sadness for the 2019 I'll be giving up.

I live in Toronto, close enough to call all of you neighbours.  I have had 4MKX/ Nautilus , and have had virtually no issues with either car.  Thank you again to all.  You should be very proud of what you build.

You’re welcome I’m sad to see the Nautilus go and I wish they kept the Nautilus here. I can only hope the BEV vehicles we get are as good as the Edge/Nautilus have been. Edge done April 2024.

You’re welcome and that’s great shows you really thought they are a great product which they are. The new Nautilus is awesome looking and Hybrid so it’s bittersweet that we won’t be making them. Ford should’ve had these vehicles as hybrids along time ago. Proud and sad to see them gone.

I just bought a 23 Black Label. I thought I'd buy the 24 when I went to see it. It looked fantastic in silver, but the 4 cylinder hybrid scared me away. I think it was a standard model with a rather unappealing to me interior. That may have influenced me some. It was very comfortable and the engine was nearly silent. I  was planning on an Aviator, but the only one I liked was waiting transit. After several weeks, the Aviator hadn't moved and the Nautilus just gotten off of the truck and still had all of the plastic on it. It was exactly as I would have built it so I grabbed it and got a much better deal then I would have with the Aviator. Here we are 3 weeks later and the Aviator is now at the dealer. I don't have any regrets. The Nautilus drives beautifully.

I hope you have many years of trouble free driving with the 2023 Nautilus. It’s a great product even though the 2024 does look sharp. Good to hear you’re enjoying it!

I too have been enjoying my '23 Reserve I ordered and picked up in May. 

 

The 2.7 is extremely fast, and while I try to baby it the best I can, I'm getting between 23 - 28 MPG weekly.  Most of the driving into work is down hill and it's fun to see it hit 30 MPG before turning into the parking lot after the tankful... ?

 

I love nearly everything on it except for two things, when I lean into the cargo area, I must be moving enough because the lift gate starts to close with the warning.
The other thing, I wish the playing of my USB drive was a little more forgiving. On my previous car I was able to play all the albums from an artist and then it would go down the line to the next and simply keep playing.  The Sync 4 will play only one album and need to be told what to do next.

 

Otherwise, I hoping to keep Natie (still working on a name for her), for many, many years. 

I hope your your team is proud of the work you've done, and hope Ford keeps the Oakville plant for many decades.

When the time comes our family needs to purchase the next vehicle, whatever you folks are building will definitely be on my list to check out.

I posted a version of this yesterday in the Facebook site "Lincoln Nautilus 2024", but thought it might be of interest to the larger Lincoln community.

Went into the boutique Koons Lincoln dealership in Bethesda, MD today. Finally got my window sticker. Still no hybrids, but they did have two 2.0 I4s. One a Prestige and one a Black Label. I took the BL out for a test drive. I have a Black Label 2024 hybrid Nautilus on order, but went into the dealership to discuss a few things related to the transfer of my order from my long-standing Lincoln dealership which, sadly, is being shut down.

 

A few observations:

 

Regardless of what size you get, the wheels overall (rims plus tire) are bigger than the previous 2019-2023 generation. I have a 2019 BL with 21" rims, and the 22"s on the 2024 actually have more, not less, rubber and are a more comfortable ride, though that might have been in part due to an improved suspension. I had planned to replace the BL 22" wheels with something smaller, but am now rethinking that. Still, I wish Lincoln let you choose what wheels you wanted as you move to higher trims and option packages.

 

The 2.0 I4 moves the vehicle around nicely. It is a little weaker off the mark than my 2019 with the great twin scroll 2.7 V6, but it still isn't bad. The less powerful engine did show its stuff on the freeway, however, when I had to accelerate to get around another car to get to the offramp. Its passing acceleration wasn't as lively and quick as the 2.7 V6. If I bought (which I won't) an I4 I'd probably end up driving more in sport (excite) mode to help compensate.

 

I expect the hybrid will provide a much different test drive, however, with 60 more horsepower and the additional torque one would expect from the extra boost of an electric motor (the exact torque number for the hybrid, strangely, is not yet available).

 

The seats are marvelous. Roomier and more comfortable than the base seats I have in my 2019. ...and I find the seats I have right now to be quite comfy.

 

Having to do so much more with screens than physical buttons will take some getting used to. My biggest concern is with audio controls. Browsing through stations, using the steering wheel controls, in particular. But in general, the new infotainment system is well done and well organized on the touch screen. And I'll really enjoy being able to have both navigation and audio information up on the big pillar-to-pillar swooping screen above, as my wife likes to always be changing audio stations as we drive.

 

The interior is beautiful.

 

When my hybrid Black Label gets here I'll do a more complete test drive. There is still the slight chance that I won't end up going through with the purchase if the hybrid provides a notably worse driving experience than the one I have with the 2.7 I have in my 2019 Nautilus, but I expect and hope that the upgraded hybrid drive train will really shine.

 

Oh, while I was out doing my BL test drive, the Prestige sold. A woman had come in to ask about the new Nautilus (without any intention of buying that day). She thought she was only interested in the hybrid, but after being told they were still a few weeks away from delivery she test drove the I4 and liked it so much she snatched it up. We had a nice chat about the vehicle as folks at the dealership were doing what they needed to do on my order transfer.

Oh, one more thing. I did my test drive with the dealership's Black Label specialist and he said that he has closely inspected each of the Nautilus 2024s that have come in and hasn't found the slightest build issue. Granted it is still a pretty small sample size, but he noted in particular how perfect body panel alignment has been, contrary to the Aviators that come in from the Chicago plant. He said that they often have to do a fair amount of panel re-alignment work on the Aviators.
