Bob Rosadini
Anyone-er the couple of you who watch Nascarš-notice the absence of the Ford "Script" on the car bumpers, replaced byĀ "FORD" in block letters??Ā SomeĀ high priced marketer must have made that decisionš¤ Hopefully that doesn't spread when you have one of the most recognized logos world wide..you would think. Bob Rosadini
Watch a race..the id on bumper was script, it is now block lettersĀ also other id that always was script logo, no longer, now block letters. Ā And I do believe that is not current "Mustang" wrapper, it is last years.

Bob, Ā Ā I'm seeing a blue oval w/script on the upper-left corner of the windshield, the fake MI license plate on the back bumper has block letters, the side panels just in front of the rear tires has the block Ford Performance logo (performance in red, small letters, hard to see). Ā The grill has the horse. Ā HRG

Mustangs don't have blue oval Ford logos on the front, just the pony. The blue oval is on the windshield for cup cars next to the driver name. Joe771476
Some TV shows past and present will show the blue oval and the Ford script letters inside, while others will show the oval slightly blurred but recognizable, but totally blur out the "Ford" script letters. But yet these shows will show the Chevy bowtie! Uh hello, we know the bowtie is Chevy and we know the blue oval is Ford! I'm thinking about doing a discussion about Ford in TV and film. I believe it is the most prominent make ever. This is partly due to the Crown Vic where art imitated life. One observation from watching the old Highway Patrol (HP) and Perry Mason shows is that there are an abnormal amount of Buicks in them, including the first season or two of HP where the police cars were Buicks. In subsequent seasons Mercury police cruisers are used often as well. There are no Ford and Chevy police cruisers. And usually the bad guys used Chrysler Corp. vehicles! All panel vans and pickup trucks were Fords, but larger trucks appeared to be Internationals, but I'm not sure.Ā I could go on and on, but I won't now. But speaking of Buicks, did New York detectives really use unmarked Buicks as in the days of "Kojak?"Ā Anybody know?Ā If Ford ever abandons using the blue oval, it will be a marketing failure and I would call it corporate sabotage!! akirby
The only factor in tv vehicle brands is how much money is being paid or how many free vehicles they get. Ā If theyāre blurred out itās because they arenāt getting paid. Ā If itās featured prominently itās because they are getting paid.

When I watch a documentary on the History Channel or PBS, the lead investigator/archaeologist/zoologist whatever travels to the lab/site/nature preserve and the Bowtie/Blue Oval etc is blurred out, sometimes even in shots where the steering wheel is in view. But keen observers will decipher the make from a sliver of dashboard or color of the headliner, etc. I don't think the general population cares that Dr drove a Tahoe or an Explorer to the destination. It seems to me that more time and money was wasted burring out escutcheons than just condoning the incidental brand appearances.

Ā Maybe GM sponsored it and demanded non GM brands be concealed. Ā Or maybe it prevented them from having to pay royalties. Ā It was not done just for fun. When I made an independent film, Ford was actually very generous an provided a CAD model of a 1969 Mustang. The real car was a 2012, but with CGI, we made it into the 1969. The car was also portrayed heroically and respectfully in the film. The obvious things I had to promise was not to portray the car in a negative light (break down, catch on fire or be totaled or have the passengers be killed in it ect. ) FCA (wasn't Stellantis yet) and VW, not so much. Their cars didn't have logos, but they got trashed in the film.Ā š

Joe771476
Does Toyota own NASCAR? It seems like it! I see some Ford and Ram truck drying vehiclesĀ on the track during cautions and red flags due to rain, but there are also several Toyota Tundra track driers and the announcers say, "We see the air Tundras are drying the track." Really? What about the other brands?!!! The only TV ads are Toyota; I see no Ford or GM commercials.Ā Funny, since I have a list of rules from the 1960's and one rule was, "There will be no foreign brand race cars in NASCAR!"Ā Uh huh.
