A me too Tesla x copy. Ford could literally design anything it wanted as a three row Utility and it chose that because they couldn’t get the range number they wanted… The problem still is battery density is still not high enough and no matter what fiddling Ford does with aero, that doesn’t take affect until highway speed. The issue here is that if anyone loads up that range immediately goes south but unlike a gas vehicle, the charging stops become annoying… The CE1 will probably sell “OK” but it seems that Ford is pulling back on hyping, the last thing they need is the perception of disappointing potential buyers.

Yea, exactly. Even though the Ford big shots repeatedly stated that Model e was a startup company, the media would constantly harp on the losses incurred by that division with idiotic and misleading headlines like Ford Loses This Whopping Amount of Money on Each EV It Makes. 🙄 None of Ford competitors reported its financials like that, and it's about time the Ford big shots put this to rest.

Its still not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, but with the lower, sloping hood, cab forward proportions, and coupe style roofline, I kinda wished they have pulled some styling inspiration from something like the gt. I feel like approach would have made the aero approach cooler, and more desirable. -

Genuinely a good idea. I've said for some time these brands spend billions developing designs in secret only to reveal them when it's too late to change anything. I feel like more transparency with passionate members of the community wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. -
That'd be amazing.

My point is it's anonymous.

Man the comments under that where interesting...but no need to make a comment because it get ignored anyways. -
Makes me wonder how it got as far along as it did? They should reach out here and set up a section that lets us give our feedback to designs. Then they wouldn’t waste so much money on bad ideas 😆

I thought it was stupid to have them reporting separately anyway.

From what I am reading, the "Model e" structure of the company sounds like it is dead from an financial reporting standpoint. I.e. Ford Blue and Ford Model e are merging together again. Maybe that is not correct, but if it is, that was a short-lived experiment that was solely done to placate Wall Street. I remember when Wall Street was pushing Ford to spin off Model e because Ford Blue would eventually be "killed off" because EV's were going to be the future and Ford Blue would become such a small part of the business. So much for that BS. https://electrek.co/2026/04/15/ford-doug-field-leaves-ev-unit-dissolved/ So Doug Field likely left due to the plan to fold Model e back into the larger organization. Ford is folding it back in solely because continuing to have Model e exist as a separate entity highlights the massive financial losses from the EV side of the business, which they are now trying to distance themselves from, IMO.
