Yup, I agree.
....maybe........in 2047..........if Ford keeps its current plan....
...wait, I'm hearing it was pushed back to 2065 just while typing.....check that, 2073....
...but yes, Edge being replaced.

Before the redesign, the Camry was a loss-leader for Toyota dealers; dealers ordered them to become eligible for hotter, more profitable models. The cars often sold for below dealer invoice.
"There were years in the not-distant past when you were content to lose a grand a unit on Camry, because you'd make it up on other products," says Fritz Hitchcock, a multiline dealer in Puente Hills, Calif.
I've got news for you. My parents and I have had Fords all our lives. The first Ford that I was aware of when I was young was a 1953 Ford Custom. Then we/I had a 1968 Torino, 1977 Granada, 1985 Ford LTD wagon, 1974 Lincoln Mark IV, 2002 Taurus. I inherited a 1985 Cadillac that I never would have bought since I knew about the dual metal 4.1L engines that would warp. Some of these were owned simultaneously. I'm 73 and on all the vehicles that I owned, I probably did a total of 10 oil changes! I just kept the oil full and coolant full with proper mixture/protection. I have gotten 12 to 19 years vehicle life and 250K to 480K miles of use! Oh I replaced a heater core here, a water pump there. I only had to replace an exhaust system twice. I have never blown an engine except for that darn 4.1L Caddy, and that wasn't until after 185K miles. I drove that 1953 Ford to the junkyard with 350K miles on it. If you don't beat the vehicle it will last a long time. None of these vehicles were gotten rid of because of too costly breakdowns. Life changes dictated purchasing a replacement vehicle, either used or new.
They probably haven't lost money, but I'm betting it's no where near a cash cow like the F150 is.
I'm betting it's more like Costco's rotisserie chickens, if you know what I mean....
There's too much technology in new cars that can go awry. I don't think I'm in the market for new cars anymore. I'm going to buy a 1967 Mustang like the one I had. No emission tests and I can fix it myself.
