I was over my parents this weekend and finally got a shot of the garage-my dad used to work at Edison for years and this his collection of Ranger related stuff he collected there.    He also was there when the plant built Pintos/bobcats and Escort/Lynx back in the early 1980s. He had another cabinet that had badges on it, but not sure where that winded up. 

It is but I'm also going with that they are getting some sort of government kickback to, because there is just no way that a company can actually make money on something like that with that type of tech in it. 

That $3,000 topper could make the Slate much more practical for small businesses. I'm curious how much cargo space it actually adds!

If Ford's gonna be able to apply both the lean skunkworks engineering process, and the assembly tree methods across their entire lineup over years, decades, it's gonna be massive. That's game changing, like a massive competitive advantage. 

Do we believe UEV and skunkworks would ever be able to match a vehicle at this level, or is it just a lost cause do you think?   I just don't see how Ford, or other Western brands can compete with something this insane. A 30k EV with 1100 hp is insanity. But I hope I'm wrong.    Maybe UEV will make up for it by being higher quality than Chinese offerings, or some other attributes I'm not considering.

The biggest issue with this is that a midsized product vs a full-size product is often separated by difference of 2-3 inches in width, which a lot harder to do then just stretch the platform out to make it longer, due to crash regulations with the passenger cell.
