BOC was another earlier example of Farley swinging for the fences,
great if it had paid off but the demand for T3 BEV F150 just isn’t there yet
and there’s no point just trying to will it into existence in the original volumes.
The place is massive, there’s every possibility that a HEV/PHEV plan could be built on site as well as the BEV plant, even if temporary in terms of say next
ten years. The proximity of healthy battery supplies alone should be incentive
enough to at least consider…
They really shouldn't have used the Lightning name for the electric model. The electric counterpart doesn't need a quirky name/nomenclature attached to it. So silly.
I would prefer it bare no resemblance to my truck at all, lol, considering sport trucks are not my thing.
However, they certainly could use the Raptor motor to beef up the performance though.
But please, dump the name. I’m sorry, it sucks.
If you want a performance sports truck, build another Lightning. If it wasn’t built by Ford Performance then it’s a trim package.
God forbid they show anything interesting at an auto show, where all kinds of potential buyers might be lurking. People who might not typically be looking at Fords. It’s not like they have demonstrated proficiency at reveals during their own independent reveals so they really aren’t competing with other brands for attention.
You have to get their attention somehow. If it’s painful for China (and this would be very painful) then they’ll negotiate. Otherwise what incentive do they have?
Part of the issue is he just threatened about 50% increase in tariffs on China today because he' mad about them not backing down on their 34%. I'm fine with negotiating, but this constant escalation is just gonna screw us if it keeps going.
