I actually LOVE that!  I thought it would be useless as I learned to drive backing boat trailers down the ramp when I was 14.  It makes backing my fifth wheel into the shed so much easier!  It's easy to use one handed, it centers the wheel when you let off, no spinning the wheel back and forth, and it's really a treat to use.  One of the best technological things Ford has added to their trucks IMHO.

I would've gladly gave up Pro Tailer Backup Assist instead 🙄

Maverick is too small to need the drop down, but I like how they mimicked it in the sheetmetal.

He was suggesting this is the next-gen model that they might add it to.     I don't see it being added to a refresh, as they wouldn't want to spend for a whole new door setup, but I could possibly see it for a redesign.

Seems like a ridiculous omission.   They probably read data that said customers weren't using it enough so they think they can just get rid of it and nobody would notice.

maybe its getting added to the refresh/redesign? The F-150, depending on the bed, has a larger gap from the wheel well to the cab also. 

I believe Ford is working 3-5 years into the future-given the fact at how flaky the supply chains can be, you'd have to figure at least 24 months or so to stand up completely new things.    Look at the timeline for the Bronco: 2017 Announcement for a 2020 release LOL Didn't go into production till 2021   Also the current Ranger: This was leaked in December 2019   Which was production new gen Ranger that went on sale in 2021 

They switched a bunch of buttons that used to be on the center stack around. Not my picture, but it shows the difference.    I do a lot of landscaping. The button allowed me to lower the tailgate as I backed up to loading bay for pallets or bags     

The clay model has the window drop (F150/Super Duty), the current Ranger does not.
