Yeah, Toyota sold 275k Tacomas last year (for reference, that's more than Colorado, Canyon, Ranger, and Ridgeline combined).
Ford just seems content with whatever they sold, though to be fair, Ranger had its highest sales since 2021. It'll be interesting to see if they push for more this year (along with current Bronco volume).
I agree - I like how the Scout truck looks.
It would be neat if they revealed that, or something else alongside the next cobra/boss. I think a lot of us just want to see something new that isn't a new trim or variant of an existing model.
Some sources claim Ford's gonna be revealing multiple vehicles, but who knows if that's accurate.
I think it's a combination of things, the long shelf life of the s550, and the fact that the s650 is basically s550 v2. I want to be excited, and I am excited about some variants, the GTD is cool, and the mustang raptor renderings I've seen look sick, but the design overall is starting to feel a bit tired.
I'd love if Ford did like a mustang concept or something like Chevy did with the c9 concepts, just some fresh to get excited about.
I personally believe this is the best looking mid-sized truck coming out. A mid-sized truck with this sort of styling at a lower price would be a smashing success in theory.
Scout and Bronco are pretty similar in terns of design,similar blocky shape and proportions, even the rectangular grille, and so on, so this could actually end up being close to the final design. It's more proportional and better looking than most of the bronco truck renderings I've seen.
The wiring on my wiring harnesses for injectors 1 and 7 have degraded to the point where they are not functioning properly. The shop I have it at said that Ford has discontinued the part and that E series 6.0L diesel engines don't have individual wire harnesses, but a wire harness for the entire engine that is integrated into the engine. So far, the only option seems to be a used replacement of the entire wire harness system, which would have to come off of another twenty year old vehicle with no guarantees as to how long it will last or if it is even the sole reason for the issue. This would also make it a much more expensive repair. The wiring crumbles and is charred.
Is anyone aware of any aftermarket parts for this?
Does anyone know of a workaround that might provide a different solution?

I like that. You mentioned having more truck like styling which could help boost the appeal. The truck scout put out is one of the best looking mid-sized trucks imo, so something with styling in that direction could be nice. Would a unibody construction limit them when it came to off-roading though? They might have to get creative with the marketing as well to really push the idea that a unibody truck can be as rugged and capable as the most traditional BoF trucks.

Maverick is exactly what Ford USA wanted the global Ranger to be way back in 2006 at the kick off to T6 project. That impasse is why Ford US
dropped all interest in T6 Ranger as a 2011 replacement.
Maverick works because it addresses that buyer below a mid sized BOF pickup,
it still has enough room to satisfy compact buyers but also superior fuel economy.
Just remember that Ranger global sales are around 386K (2024)
so as the international vehicle, it and Everest are hitting profit targets.
Whatever Ford US is doing with Ranger, it’s clear that Tacoma is running away with sales.
You can keep Maverick's styling but on a new cheaper platform and make a different top hat with bolder more truck like styling with more power,payload and towing to replace Ranger.
