Let's not forget this: If Ford has shown anything since 2005, the styling department has figured out how to make a sexy mid-engine car. Take that, Chebby! -

I'm not optimistic about this line, even if Ford doesn't screw it up from the jump. Hasn't all the market research pointed to success when there's a GAS ENGINE in there along with the batteries? Whether as a range extender (Scout) or tag-along propulsion device (Escape), the pure electric phenomenon looks like it was fueld in large part of massive tax credits that no longer exist. -

Yea, that's ample reason for serious customers within that market sector to stick with Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai/Kia. Anyone interested in sedans and/or hatches will find something from at least one of those companies that will meet their needs.

VW Group's MEB platform, which ID.4 uses, has run its course and ain't competitive at this point. MEB+ and SSP platform vehicles can't come soon enough. Volkswagen’s MEB+ announcement signals the onset of a new phase in the EV industry—a second-generation EV race. The shift toward LFP batteries and the implementation of Cell-to-Pack architecture directly supports lower prices and improved safety. With the original MEB platform, Volkswagen faced limitations in competing with Tesla and BYD in terms of technology and cost. MEB+ is designed to address these challenges and help maintain or grow market share before the transition to the SSP platform.

Agreed- Toyota, Honda, Hyundai/Kia and others have been selling 6 figure volumes of sedans and hatches while GM poorly served this market sector and Ford ignored it. -
All the other minivans put a real window in their doors though.
