There's an episode of The FBI TV show from the late 60's/early 70's and the father of his kidnapped son was driving a beautiful blue Shelby Mustang which one FBI agent referred to by that nomenclature. But the Ford name was not mentioned, This show was a one hour Ford commercial for 9 seasons! More on this another time.

I have stated it about 10 times now. Read what Fordmantpw posted about the cybertruck again. Whatever it is it won't be just a ridgeline.

Not a bad idea, but isn’t there already enough capacity for a Lincoln model right now?

Well state your case then. Why do you believe such a vehicle would be successful, beyond being cheap, when the only midsized unibody truck on sale is a sales disaster? You can disagree all you want, but it feels like every time a Ridgeline or gladiator rival is brought up, we're told how those trucks don't sell well. So I believe it's important to discuss what Ford would do differently to increase its chances of success. I don't believe the answer is just "Make a Ridgeline but make it cheaper" because we've seen that approach doesn't give Ford the margins they want. -
I guarantee all $800 of that cost was passed on to the end user so how much did it really cost Ford?

That was a pretty good deal for Shelby American. I wish ford could have come up with a better name though. Dark horse is fine for a mid level mustang like a Bullitt. I think Mach 1 would have been better to use on the darkhorse sc. I also think the logo looks a bit like an angry kangaroo instead of a horse😆

Obviously, it has to be as capable. If there's anything Ford knows how to build, it's trucks. -

Just on the topic of differentiation and truck models, there was an old patent image lurking on another site for a truck design that was super, super cab forward, like Ford's version of the Canoo truck. Something with these proportions could have like a ranger sized cab, and a f-150 sized bed, in a footprint the size of a maverick. I could see something like this being a hit for commercial fleets, but might be too polarizing for traditional consumers. -
Ford's already doin' it 😎
