The thing is the buyers of this product would gave next to no recognition of this because they weren’t even born yet or where very young.    you do realize that the 1980s where 40 years ago….

Taylor Sheridan’s western themed shows are wildly popular right now.    But I took the “herd” terminology as being a play on the Unicorn that was sticking its head out of the Skunk Truck bed.

This is a perfect example of why Lincoln has never pushed onto greater things, this should be a LR MB BMW moment  for Lincoln but is this just imaging?  

That’s my thought, and it’s not a good choice. Think back to the 50’s and 60’s when the ranchero came out. Westerns were the king of pop culture. From tv, movies and radio to toys and fashion, it was everywhere. It made sense for automakers to jump on this trend with their vehicle names. Nobody cares about any of that now. By the 70s and 80s, the ranchero and el Camino names had a negative connotation to them. These were the stereotypical redneck vehicles. The target audience is the exact opposite of everything mentioned above.     

Remember last year when I was talking about this design, I said then that the front is lower and shorter than Maverick and I was a little concerned about how people would receive that but was open to people accepting change after the extreme of Cybertruck. These photos show that proportion and balance in styling is there but I’m not so sure about the level of interest, hopefully that changes by next year.   This is a great effort by Ford but you can see it’s all a contrived release to show us  what they want us to see.

Would that lean toward Ranchero then?   Ranchero is someone living/working on a ranch (theoretically with animals/livestock).

Yeah, I think that particular one is for Bronco.

Here is a screen shot. It appears there is some sort of buttress or cover that extends out a few inches all the way around the cab.

I like the layout of the Expedition dash setup....
