Adding another T6 plant doesn't make much sense, unless they plan on just badge engineering the Super Duty Ranger into a F-100 with a new top hat (not sure how that will pay off) or maybe add the Everest to the plant also? It would be easier to do a Linclonized Bronco that way... -
I guess, but I'd imagine many buyers don't look at it that way. This is another important point - if you drastically change Ranger/F-100, you're pulling that scale from Bronco too, unless it too would go to whatever this new platform is....(I assume it would).
-
I'd agree that on something like Bronco, several "Bronco bolts" on the dash would've been fine and would've allowed customers to swap dash panels if they wanted.
-
I've been trying to figure this out too - had the same debate on the Silverado debut.....I just don't understand what the passenger screen does that the center one doesn't. I guess it's bigger than the phone screen so you could watch something there? but then either your blasting something through the car speakers (that nobody else can see, mind you), or you have headphones? I'll file it under "keeping up with the Joneses" because Ram has one....

Well just look at this way-a stereotypical Ford truck buyer would most likely buy an F-150 over a Ranger if the price is similar. I don't think that translates the same way with the Tacoma and Tundra. The Tacoma is like the Camry or Accord-its a Japanese staple in the American Car buyer diet. Not sure if Ford could or would want to knock it off its pedestal The Ranger primarily exists in NA for the Bronco -

And realistically, I think this is the focus more than changing the size of the Ranger. -

I thought it was closer to F150 than that. Also, keep in mind that Maverick is a car with a bed and not a truck, also. -
But if you start with an expensive super capable platform then global volume only reduces costs so much. Adopting ce1 principles for design, engineering and assembly could cut costs several thousand dollars enabling lower prices and increasing margins. And you still get the volume amortizations.

I’d like to change my grille but I’ve seen a lot of those clips broken so I’m a bit hesitant to do it. It’d be nice if all you had to do was remove a few screws. Take 15 min tops to switch out. Or on the interior. If you wanted to change the dash insert, you basically have to take apart the entire dash. Why can’t it be just a few screws there too? Engineers probably spend countless hours trying to hide all the fasteners. Exposed screws/bolts look cool, especially in off road vehicles.

That's good then. We'll see....
