I suspect the battery-drain gremlins mean that if your car sits a lot you'll need to replace it more often than if you drive it daily. It takes almost no power to start a hybrid (all it's doing is energizing the 12 system enough for it to close a relay)... which also means the battery can get into a realllllly bad state before you realize it's dying - I had one discharge to the point that it spewed sulphuric acid around the battery compartment. (It actually dissolved the battery hold-down clamp, so I've got a little styrofoam in there to help hold it in place.) -

3 years later, I'm sure this will be no help to you, maybe someone else will run across it. I've had similar "no volume" errors, as well as "system boops but it doesn't do anyhting" and some other odd problems here and there. I've made a habit of pulling the fuse whenever one of the electrical components is acting wonky until I eventually pull the right fuse and everything works correctly again. -
If you think PAG failed because Ford didn’t want competition for Lincoln, you need to unlearn what you have learned in error. The PAG debacle nearly killed Lincoln, and I’m not entirely certain that killing Lincoln wasn’t the point of Nasser’s plan. There was a red-headed stepchild in that mess, and it was decidedly NOT Jag, Aston, LR, or Volvo.

We just had a 19-hour outage, same here, I have a (most) house Generac Nat Gas generator. I call it "most" house since I intentionally sized the unit to take care of the critical circuits, and not worry about the A/C or non-essential circuits. Of course, one of my non-prepared neighbors was happy that I kept my Yamaha Inverter EF2800i portable unit, that unit kept his food and sump pump covered. HRG -
No idea on this one but surely, a US centric product would have a ton of local input to get everything just so for your customer base. I do wonder if the F Trucks will go to HT steel bodies for next generation. Sourcing enough aluminium is really problematic for Ford, thst and price hikes in the past 12 years don’t help either. Silverado is similar weight to F150, so maybe not so much of a penalty…

This is an interesting read even though it is about 1.5 years old. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1145851_2026-ram-ramcharger-plug-in-hybrid-how-it-works-specs

Me too. At best it will have to be at reduced speeds and likely operating on only the rear motor. I haven't seen anywhere where RAM describes the implications for it's 14,000 lb tow limit with a depleted battery. At best this is disingenuous marketing and at worst an outright scam. Agreed, and gasoline prices are coming back down now in the USA. But, I've still got my heart set on my Aussie friends designing/engineering an F-100 Powerboost for me.

The biggest issue for electrified vehicles to overcome is the low price of gasoline, justifying any spend on hybrid or PHEV is much harder when gas prices fall back to reasonable levels
-
Well that's promising. I'd still question if that works for 14k.

The automotive press states that when the gas tank reaches empty you need to find a charging station or refill the gas tank at a gas station. This implies that it can continue to operate which would be similar to a conventional PHEV. I could not find anything from RAM directly stating this. I did find on the RAM REV website that the onboard generator can bypass the battery and deliver electricity directly to the electric motor(s) when needed in high power demand situations. In addition, RAM states that the front electric motor can be decoupled when necessary (implying low battery situations).
