Of course Ford raised the MSRPs, but they do that all the time even before tariffs. Whether their costs increased due to higher taxes, higher cost of raw materials, higher labor cost or tariffs doesn't matter. They set MSRP and dealer invoice prices and the consumer negotiates the selling price with the dealer. There is no line item for tariffs. Let's say You bought a Maverick last year and this year the government retroactively charged Ford $1k per Maverick sold last year due to an error. Would you owe Ford that $1k? Of course not. Likewise you're not entitled to a refund if their costs go down retroactively.

Long McArthur reported last week that 2027 Super Duty retail builds are now being scheduled at KTP for weeks 10AUG-24AUG. I ordered last month and I suppose there is a large queue ahead of us 🥴

Oooh, actually, that's a really good catch. I'm going to blame being awake too early at work on a Saturday... and "Ford Math". Here's what I was working with, initially looking just at the red circled "just the truck" numbers. What I missed on the 2024 is that we still had to add $3500 for the Tremor package itself. Oops. That said, we can apples-to-apples the other trims as well here. They've definitely gone up, although it can sometimes get masked as well in whether or not hybrid gains a credit or incurs a cost, if AWD is standard or not, credits for taking front drive, and other Ford Math shenanigans.

Ben, I'm not seeing the $6K price increase. Below are window stickers for my 2024 Lariat Tremor, and a 2026 Tremor, adding the sliding back window that is now an option. What am I missing? $2640, yes, but not $6K. HRG 2024 Maverick Lariat Tremor TJH 09302024.pdf 2026 Tremor WS with back window.pdf -
I have a hard time telling the difference between prices going up from tariffs vs prices going up from other reasons. I know with absolute certainty that if I'd been able to get my Maverick (24 XLT Tremor) ordered in 2023 rather than having to wait for 2024, it would have been $5000 less. Then from 24 to 25, pricing went up another $6000 for a Tremor, comparing Lariat Tremor to Tremor as a trim level. In that case, there was a redesign, technologies changed jumping to SYNC4, bigger center screen, bigger instrument cluster screen, 360 camera, etc. Destination and delivery on a 24 was $1595, 25 went to $1695, 26 are at $1845. Weirdly, the Bronco Sport D&D went from $1595 in 2024 to $1995 in 2025 and 2026. Is the price increase actually because of tariffs? Hard to say. The F-150 stayed within $2000 for a W3L/XLT SuperCrew through the same period, but D&D went from $1995 to $2595 to now $2795, and those don't have to be shipped internationally.

Yes, but when Ford increases the MSRP, it DOES affect the price paid to the Dealer. You probably didn't read the Detroit News article, but the basis is that Ford did raise the MSRP on Mexico-produced vehicles as a result of tariffs (as well as other factors). This Reuters article from early May 2025 indicates as such. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/ford-hikes-prices-mexico-produced-models-citing-tariffs-2025-05-07/ DETROIT, May 7 (Reuters) - Ford Motor (F.N), opens new tab has hiked prices on three of its Mexico-produced models effective May 2, becoming one of the first major automakers to adjust sticker prices following U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs. Prices on the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, Maverick pickup and Bronco Sport will increase by as much as $2,000 on some models, according to a notice sent to dealers, which was reviewed by Reuters. Ford earlier this week said Trump's trade war would add about $2.5 billion in costs for 2025, but it expects to reduce that exposure by around $1 billion. Rival General Motors (GM.N), opens new tab said last week that tariffs were projected to cost it between $4 billion and $5 billion following the imposition of hefty levies on foreign imports of automobiles, but it expected to offset that by at least 30%. A Ford spokesperson said the price hikes will affect vehicles built after May 2, which would arrive at dealer lots in late June. The spokesperson said the price hikes reflect "usual" mid-year pricing actions, "combined with some tariffs we are facing. We have not passed on the full cost of tariffs to our customers." Ford shares were down 1.7% at $10.26 at midday. The automaker is still running a discount program through the July 4 weekend on many of its models, the spokesperson said. Trump's tariffs have unleashed weeks of uncertainty across the auto sector, as major carmakers in the United States and Europe have pulled forecasts, shifted production and caused companies to idle plants.
