https://www.motortrend.com/news/2028-ford-ranchero-ev-pickup-future-cars New Renders that seem to be closer to what it actually looks like. I still think the window sills are lower on the door and it won’t have that stupid light fang design -

Time will tell, I could see it going either way. There's a small, but passionate market for entry level exotics coming in at 70 to 100 grand. Lotus, porsche, Corvette, etc. I know it's not a priority, but like JP said, it would be cool if Ford just did it for fun now and then. Offering something unique beyond their core portfolio that doesn't cost as much as a house. -

Fair enough, but I'd argue if you're making a supercar, you're appealing to car nuts who are more aware of what the RS 200 is. But I get where you're coming from. I just hope whatever it is, if it gets made at all, is closer to a Ford supercar shape with lifted off-road suspension as compared to yet another lifted truck or suv. -

I do want to go but just got to find the time. Right now, trying to read up on all the things in owners manual (yes, I read it). Then figure out all the things I need to get/do to prepare for what I need it to do. All while getting to know and understand what is normal/not normal, while breaking it in. Lots of new sounds (wind, engine, trans). Overall, very happy. I think my first order of business is installing my wheel locks at least on the spare tonight. -
Yes, I was saying truly young people in my age bracket would be probably buying this used After the people in the 34 to 52 bracket have their turn. The only way to actually get a ton of people in my age bracket buying new would be to offer B-segment shit like the Renault 4 E-tech for $20,000 USD. At that price you could lure in anyone with good enough credit who likes a tech forward car (since otherwise at that price point might as well just get a nicer car used). This probably won’t actually happen unless Nissan finds a way to bring over the Micra, Chevy keeps making another Bolt, or if Ford makes a new Focus on UEV. I would not bet on any of those three things.

I know a big part for me also was limited vacation time by the time I was looking into trying to use it - I had other trips planned and didn't want to/couldn't allocate vacation days to a trip just for that (most weekend options were booked up when I was looking into it before it expired).

Yeah and COVID made that harder to do to a point too. I didn't go to mine, even though it was like 6 hour drive or so to NH one. -

The issue is the RS200 is a 40 year old nameplate that has zero name recognition outside of hardcore car nuts-Yes its a fucking awesome car for its time, but it sure can't handle carrying a super car name by name recognition alone. They would be far better off calling the Ford Raptor or something like that, because it would the be apex off road vehicle they make performance wise, IMO -

Got this from Google, so take it with a grain of salt: Ages 55 and over: Make up 52% of all vehicle buyers (while representing only 38% of the adult population). This group has the highest concentration of wealth, enabling them to purchase premium and new vehicles. Ages 35–54: Account for approximately 34% of buyers. Ages 34 and under: Make up only 14% of vehicle buyers (despite representing 30% of the adult population). Young drivers also represent about 8% to 10% of new vehicle registrations
