I think he just misspoke. He mentioning having different top hats right before, which internally likely made him think about the suv they're developing, and it was a simple slip up. That's just my guess. -

There was an interview when Farley says customers will be able to get it in a 25 or 30k EV from Ford. That's a pretty large discrepancy. My guess is the truck and suv will be just under 30, like $29,995 sort of deal, and the sedan will be mid to high 20s. -
They could build all of the 140000 f series they sell in Canada at Oakville. I just don’t believe that will happen with all this Cusma crap for now if ever. It’s a great idea though. There’s all these second shift is coming rumors too. I’ll believe it when I see it. They’re pumping 5 billion Canadian into that plant, you would think they want two shifts there. It’s been nothing but a rollercoaster ride at OAC since 2020. We’ve had over 3 years total downtime in total. Like I said Saturday is Oakville ratification meeting in Hamilton. I will give details if the info isn’t already plastered all over unifor.ca by then.

One would think and hope Oakville gets F-150 production as well. -
$29,995 MSRP would be an unequivocal win even with like a $1995 destination charge. That’s like $34k out the door all included without a trade in or state EV rebate. For me it would mean I could probably do it net under $32k.

Welcome back! I’m very glad I don’t have to deal with random sales people and always get my Fords from the same person and place. Regarding the 2.3, your right, it doesn’t sound great, but to be fair the 3.0 in our ST doesn’t really sound that much better. But I will say I have the 2.3 in my work Explorer, and its performance is more than adequate. I haven’t been disappointed with that aspect at all.

Bill Ford also said “we’re starting with an SUV” so it could all just be a mistake (or alternatively he looks at the skunk truck as a SUV, which would certainly make the “mid-sized” designation make sense)

Assuming "top hats" is a reference to body types, just being slippery with wording. Truck, vans, SUV's, sedans. Common "skateboard" base chassis, common engine/battery packs, plug-and-play bodies for different needs. Maybe. Also, if Bill Ford said "under $30k", that's something interesting. Specific words are important. When Jim Farley says things, I hate to say I find myself applying a little bit of filter to it, because sometimes he'll say things he's probably not supposed to say out loud. 😄
