A true sedan could be a risk. A hatch or Chevy Bolt EUV body type is probably a better bet for that low end model. A retro inspired Ford Focus revival could work. It would be like what Renault is doing with the Renault 5 E-tech, which, although I don’t like NMC seems to be quite a brilliant vehicle that sells six figures and looks utterly fantastic. also, just to be clear, my concrete suggestion here would be a Ford Focus hatch with the Chevy Bolt body type.

Efficient use of space with a midgate, like the Skunk Truck, and a footprint about the size of a Mini. You can carry up to 8 passengers with available options (late) or 4x8 plywood with the rear gate up. And I think they're neat lookin'. I'm a bit partial to forward cab and cabovers as my first delivery job was in an E-250 and later my first semi job I drove a Kenworth T-200 Cabover with a single sleeper. https://www.telotrucks.com -
Yes, we know lol. The quote is saying "under $30k", nothing to do with platform construction... Yes, we've already known they're working on the truck and crossover at least, and at one point a van was on the table, with a sedan also rumored. Yeah, I think that's just a slip up.

Was it truly "against" BOF vehicles, or more that Ford's BOF platforms at the time were outdated, and with the money issues, it just made more sense to consolidate to only a couple of platforms?

I honestly don't know much about the vehicle.......what does it do better than other competitors?

True....but the significance of Lincoln in the history of Ford is greater even though Edsel created Mercury from scratch...Edsel was the one that convinced Henry to buy Lincoln in the first place, Lincoln was Edsel's jewel and he was wise enough to bring forth Mercury as a gap filler between the "pedestrian" Ford models of the era and the uber ritzy Lincolns. -

I think he just misspoke. He mentioning having different top hats right before, which internally likely made him think about the suv they're developing, and it was a simple slip up. That's just my guess. -

There was an interview when Farley says customers will be able to get it in a 25 or 30k EV from Ford. That's a pretty large discrepancy. My guess is the truck and suv will be just under 30, like $29,995 sort of deal, and the sedan will be mid to high 20s. -
They could build all of the 140000 f series they sell in Canada at Oakville. I just don’t believe that will happen with all this Cusma crap for now if ever. It’s a great idea though. There’s all these second shift is coming rumors too. I’ll believe it when I see it. They’re pumping 5 billion Canadian into that plant, you would think they want two shifts there. It’s been nothing but a rollercoaster ride at OAC since 2020. We’ve had over 3 years total downtime in total. Like I said Saturday is Oakville ratification meeting in Hamilton. I will give details if the info isn’t already plastered all over unifor.ca by then.
