The point has nothing to do with who competed in which race.  I'm saying Porsche owns the Dakar name as a vehicle model/trim so Ford can't use it.  I don't think anyone has registered Baja.

I think you misunderstood.  911 Dakar is an actual limited edition factory 911 sold in 2023.      

Well Porsche also legitimately raced there also with the 959. I guess that is why Ford was going with Baja with its Bronco History. 

Porsche owns Dakar I think so Baja is probably the next best for that kind of name.

The Baja Mustang doesn't have a good ring to it IMO, then again Raptor doesn't either.   Wonder what else they can use.
