I assume you have to enter a passcode/ use face ID to access it. -
Lincoln has had phone as a key using bluetooth since 2021 if not sooner. This is more like concert tickets I assume.

I would love to have this. I can't stand carrying keys. I'm assuming that, for the Fathom, instead of the Apple Wallet keys, Ford could go the normal key route or use a physical key card that fits in someone's wallet.

How does it work if your fob gets stolen?

How does this work if your phone gets stolen? They're just able to access/drive away with your car?

I think there's a small market for it, but not as a Thunderbird, which is a name that's been lost to history. But as a Lincoln sports coupe. Lincoln is apparently pushing for a more exciting and passion filled image. The Lincoln bronco makes sense, but so does a Lincoln GT sports coupe. Like an Aston Martin on a budget to the Lincoln bronco's g-wagon on a budget. The sales volume would be low, but the profit margins could be pretty fat if it utilized flat rock and the mustang underpinnings with minimal changes. Giving the standard mustang more seductive proportions as I proposed in my other comment would also pay dividends when you carried said proportions over to a luxury GT. -

IDK, the Corvette is printing billions of dollars in revenue for GM, and is bringing a lot of younger, more wealthy buyers to the brand. That being said, I also recognize that it's a small market, probably too small for Ford to justify developing a new mid-engine platform to meet the demands of said market. I feel like it makes more sense to modify the existing mustang platform or develop a new one that allows Ford to tuck the engine behind the front wheels, effectively making it front-mid instead of rear mid. Get rid of the rear seats, push the a-pillar back, I've mentioned that before. The coupe loses the rear seat, but Ford makes up for it by offering a mustang sedan and cuv which are gonna appeal to the majority of mustang enthusiasts who care about rear seat space. Having a front-mid layout makes it so Ford can still appeal to mustang traditionalists who like the long hood, front engine looks of the mustang. But also opens the door for Ford to maybe appeal to the Corvette buyers who don't want a rear-mid car and felt left behind by the c8's radical changes. -
Hilariously or tragically, this is more info than I've gotten directly from Ford as of 1PM Central time 9-15-2026. Got info on the Carhartt package this morning, but images of the new grilles is still missing from the mothership.
