Heh, as underpowered as those things are bone stock, I can't imagine how painful it must be to drive that one. I'd actually posted it on our work Facebook page with this: "We love customizing vehicles! We love stock vehicles too, but custom means something, it's personal. Then, there's "we've gone too far, and for too little"... this 2019 EcoSport just MIGHT have crossed that line. What do you think? Back on the topic of a mid-engine c8 rival. Back in the day, I used to push super hard for a mid-engine mustang on this site. I still like the idea of offering a direct c8 rival.    But I also see the argument that doing a new, one off platform wouldn't really have a strong business case behind it. It has made me wonder about something though.   That's the idea of Ford developing a modular supercar platform for multiple models. Think c2 or UEV, but for supercars. I don't know how viable this idea would be from an engineering and manufacturing standpoint. But I'm thinking one platform, and a plethera of shared components to keep costs down, shared across a c8 rival, off-road supercar that Farley really likes, and a super high end halo model at the very top, a successor to the gt with styling and tech cues taken from the Le mans hypercar program.    3 supercars is a lot. But depending on how far Ford wants to take this exciting enthusiast car image, it's just an interesting idea to consider. 

I would stick with Ford GT.

I had a 2018 GT convertible, and sure, the rear seat was cramped, but it's nice to have it in a pinch if you need it.  I wouldn't have bought one without a rear seat.  Nor would I have bought the sedan, as I wanted a convertible.   Look at Camaro sales when they didn't bother to keep some practicality baked in and leaned too far into performance as a priority approach.....
