Yea, but fixing decades of mismanagement by the big shots at VW is going to take a while. Sounds like there's a distinct possibility the company may not last that long.

The "tariff situation" is temporary....subject to change, reduction or dismantlement by a future administration. -

Just drove 500 miles yesterday. Bluecruise only works up to 80 mph and most of my trip was Oklahoma Turnpikes (80+ speed limit). However, after a long day, the ability to just sit and idly stare at the scenary with almost zero input is a real luxury. To say nothing of the fact that the Nauti is tomb-quiet, vault-solid, super-comfy, and managed 28 mpg at 80 for hours on end. Now, if Lincoln hadn't incorporated the vent controls into the touch pad....~sigh~ -
I somewhat agree with T Hawker. Almost every ford i have owned recently has had major issues. Transmission on a Fusion and engine on an escape, both with under 70k miles. Two explorers that have both had more recalls than I can count in addition to numerous other issues. Bronco has been good so far besides the few recalls it has had. My wife has had enough and is done with Ford. We get A plan so the discounts have kept us loyal, but thats not even enough to keep her in a ford now.

Given the tariff situation, it might be cheaper long term to do that. I'd assume that they might bring in other higher end makes (Maybe Porsche) also? -

Yet, Audi announces they want to build out a new plant in Georgia? -
Things are going from bad to worse at Volkswagon. From Autoline Daily: Now over to Europe where the Volkswagen Group is facing a 5-alarm fire. Retail sales fell 14%, or more than 300,000 vehicles. Its operating profit just about evaporated, down almost 99%. VW only made €71 million in operating profit in Q3, down from €5.4 billion a year ago. In its own financial report, VW says its profit margin is zero. .......Volkswagen had to suspend development of the all-electric Golf at the Wolfsburg plant because the facility is behind on cost-cutting targets by 300 million euros and it said “we simply can’t afford this work right now.”

Indiana also has dumbfuck politicians who think suspending excise and sales taxes for gasoline is somehow a good idea! Our completely useless governor, Mike Braun, abused "Energy Emergency" provisions for executive orders twice this year to do just that - once in April, again in August after the first one expired. The latter is slated to expire on November 4, 2026. Local governments in Indiana have been deprived of funding for infrastructure projects to the tune of $140 million a month since April due to this bullshit. Anyway, back to the topic of the thread- here are typical prices for gasoline and diesel in Martinsville, IN at 11 Am on 10/30/2026:

I was curious how close I could get a Mustang GT to the equipment on the Dark Horse. There are, of course, some Dark Horse specific items. The dual air box and throttle body, engine oil, trans, and diff coolers, those are functionally the big ones I couldn't add to a factory build. Some appearance things too. Put the same color (Carb Gray) on both, so no added costs there. Automatic on both, because the Dark Horse Build & Price defaulted to that, and it didn't move the GT's price anyway. Now, the Dark Horse says it's built from the GT 301A package, plus this and that. I built from a GT Premium, initially because of the upgrade B&O audio option that I didn't see on the GT 301A. So my GT Premium build up added the 401A Premium High Package, GT Performance Package, MagnaRide Suspension, Active Valve Exhaust, and the B&O audio. Final price - $67140. A Dark Horse base, as close to "apples to apples" as I could get to my build (which doesn't get the heated+cooled leather of the 401A GT Premium, nor the approach detection) final price - $67075. All done on Build & Price, which is still on 2026. So, could they potentially take the dual air box/throttle body and coolers, and add them to the GT Performance Packages? I think it would make sense. That clears the Dark Horse, like the Dark Horse SC, to run an actually unique engine, differentiating itself better from the GT, and adding more value to that GT Performance Package.

Yesterday, two stations in my area had regular listed for $3.22 a gallon. Of course, this is also the last day that the Georgia gas tax is suppended. Prices will probably jump by 33 cents tomorrow.
