The latest version is the Next Generation Delivery Vehicle or NGDV, replacing the bulletproof Grumman Long Life Vehicle or LLV from the 1980's. Quick summary: Some call it the ugly duckling. But it's because function was preferred over form. The reason was they wanted to make it so carriers could stand up in it and also accommodate more packages where the growth is, which in turn also made the windshield huge which offers better vision. Marker 6:00 tells us a Ford 2.0 L engine supplies the power. There's dozens of videos on this. Here's one: (293) USPS Oshkosh NGDV Postal Van (Ugly by Design) - YouTube

But you also implied that fordmantpw's opinion of his problems was wrong.

What is a minor annoyance and a deal breaker can be the same depending on the driver. And I was giving the poster my view.

Were we twins separated at birth?

You don't u derstand the difference between a minor annoyance that happens occasionally and a deal breaker.

I think regular cabs is a no brainer for F-100 along with other fleet configurations. Lots of factory space to use up.

But notice that profit hasn't taken a big hit, so that should tell you that while Escape was profitable for dealers Ford wasn't making much. CE1 products should do much better on profit margin although volume will take a few years and multiple models. Meanwhile the new CUV replacement should do even better. Whatever customers were lost will be made up with new products and better customers. Just like Maverick and Bronco Sport replaced Fusion and MKZ.

I could see that happening for the F-100 given that it will likely cater more to fleet sales than the Ranger.

not a chance a 2 door Bronco truck sells. Even the 2 door Bronco isn’t selling that well, a truck would do even worse. while the above idea is cute, it seems like extra work for little reward considering the Fathom and the Maverick are already there. I don’t feel there’s a big enough difference between the Bronco Sport truck and Maverick, where at least a proper Bronco truck has a more stark difference between it and Ranger.

I predicted this almost a year ago. Behold, the "Bronco Sport Trac"! *EDIT - definitely tongue-in-cheek on this one. At no point do I think Ford should build a Bronco Sport Trac! Yes, it's an MS Paint "Temu Photoshop" mash-up of a Bronco Sport and a Maverick from Build and Price. And not particularly well done at that. 😂 BUT, when I put this into one of the Facebook Maverick groups, it actually got more kudos than I thought it deserved. Actually, with all the talk of a Bronco based truck, doing a regular cab built on the regular Bronco satisfies a couple holes in the market. There isn't a regular cab small truck in the US market, so much like the Maverick, Ford has an opportunity to literally create a vehicle niche. Use the 4-door wheelbase for the truck, make a 2-door and a 4-door, changing the box size accordingly. That's some super pipe-dream level stuff, but it'd be interesting to see Ford take that particular leap.
