Hey folks, thanks for enabling my account!
I'm in love with my 2023 Mach 1, it's a EU/German delivery, 460HP, 6spd Tremec, such an amazing piece of technology!
Still getting familiar, and waiting for some new summer tyres
Glad to meet you all!
Best,
Arthur
I have a 1997 f250 Supercab 4X4 with a 7.3 liter powerstroke. On December 4, 2024 my truck ran out of fuel because it failed to switch from the front to the rear fuel tank. The switching valve on the truck frame quit working. I had it towed the the Ford service shop and they replaced the valve for me. They also put a new grey cam sensor on the engine. The shop said it needed it. I had the black cam sensor on it before and had 272,000 miles on the truck. On January 20, 2025 the truck had set for 3 days I tried to start it the 4th morning but all it would do was spin the engine. Tried twice more same thing. I turned the key all the way off let it sit for 5 minutes and it started right up. Truck worked until feb 18th, after sitting for two days it did the same thing. Twice more it was hard to start. On February 19 it was hard to start after sitting for 2 days. After starting I went to restaurant 4 miles away. Left cafe after breakfast, stopped at store truck did not want to start just doing the engine. Finally started, went home. On February 26, 2025 after sitting 2 days did not want to start. After a few tries it started. Went to cafe for breakfast. Left cafe went to grocery store made left turn truck died, coasted into parking lot. Had towed to Ford service. It's been there for 2 1/2 weeks now. It has to acted up once since they had it and their scanner said it needs a cam sensor. They said they don't believe it is the cam sensor though.
My thoughts at this point are that my old cam sensor was good. They put in the grey one because there was a recall many years ago but that grey sensor is the problem. I'm going to order an OEM black one from a performance shop and see if that fixes the problem.
Guys, with all due respect, it seems like this discussion has gotten a bit sidetracked. If we want to discuss the ranger in depth, we should probably create a new thread for that.
Thanks. We have fun with it. You have 2? You are a glutton for punishment. Mine came with a open 3.50 rear. Toploader is original per the partial vin on the front flange. Block is about 3 months newer than the car so probably a service block as no vin is stamped on it. The Marti report is very informative. The dealer that sold the car new in Oct. 1968 is still in business in Valdosta, GA. They sent two of the dealer plates that they put on cars when they sell them. I cover my Ohio tags with them at shows.
Your SCJ is quite the collector piece. Great color also. Fun stuff to drive.
