I’ve also heard that the F-150 Lightning EREV is simmering on the back burner and not getting much attention. Resources are focused on the next generation ICE F-150.

Farley mentioned last week that NG F150 prototypes will be testing during the 1st quarter of 2027. From what I’ve read it will be launched 2nd quarter 2028, so a 2029 model. The next new model will probably be the C2 Escape replacement to be built alongside Maverick. Maybe late 2028 as a 2029, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it introduced in 2029 as a 2030 model. I don’t think Ford has anything coming in calendar 2027 other than Fathom. 

"Based on" is too generous. It's halfway between "based on" and lazy rebadge. They didn't even both changing the license plate holder hole on the front bumper or rear hatch.    Can't imagine they gonna put in much effort on the Ford Explorer version.

The big question is what model year the coming models are.....   are they 28 MYs coming out next year? Or are they 28 CY, so 29 MY, and then 29 CY, 30 MY?       Crazy that 2026 is already almost over....

All I can think of is the robotaxi from Total Recall, JohnnyCab.

Only complaint I have is a harsh 10-8 downshift when I'm towing and a sometimes wonky 2-3 shift when towing.  Other than that, my '22 F350 has been great.  It's awesome in the Bronco with quick, smooth shifts.

Technically the 2028MY can start next spring/Summer, do keep in mind we are less then 60 days out from 2027...as hard as to to believe.

Yup.....Ford's bad habit, and then wondering where the customers go after they push refreshes 1-2-sometimes 3 years too long.   Looking at the lineup, I don't think there's anything new until 2028-9 MY, right?   I guess you could argue Nautilus refresh and Corsair returning with a refresh.   But on the Ford side, there's Fathom late next year, and then nothing until 2029-30 MY, right?  So another 2 years beyond Fathom, unless I'm missing something?   Another performance Mustang doesn't count for me.     I guess to be fair, 29-30 reportedly has a lot in the pipeline with F-150, Explorer, Bronco etc. etc. (assuming things don't get pushed back in typical Ford fashion)...     Eh, I'd imagine that while F-150 inventories were down/not available, some folks went with Rangers (perhaps just coincidence that Ranger has been up much of the year while F-150 was having inventory issues).

They are already "using" them in areas, even though AFAIK they haven't been approved for use.
