Mustang ICE CUV? Theoretically this product doesn't have a home right now, as it likely wouldn't fit at Flat Rock. I suppose if it's CD6-derived, Chicago, but who knows if there's room there, or if Ford wants to go that route. But I also question projected volume on that product, so would it warrant having its own factory? I doubt they're projecting Edge-level volume for something more performance oriented......and even if a Lincoln counterpart came with it, that's still not much volume for a whole plant. Something else EV would make most sense since it's set up for that, but with Ford's EV plans shifting to CE1, and Mach E reportedly getting an ICE replacement, the plant would likely be completely ripped up regardless of what you put there, as both paths would be new production styles for the plant. So I guess the question is, does it stick with EV, or does it revert to ICE product production? ICE production could give Ford another C2 plant after it dropped many of the C2 products lol. Theoretically, converting it to C2 would give them room to produce the Maverick crossover and van (or wait, the van is going to Ohio isn't it?), and maybe a Lincoln counterpart Corsair replacement without having to affect Maverick/Bronco Sport production.......I'm still rather skeptical of Bronco Sport being imported from Valencia....could also throw NA Nautilus production in there if they wanted...

What models did they kill they where actually making money on? Provide proof instead of "trust me bro" -
Makes me wonder what is to become of Mach E and the Cuautitlan plant.. Mach E was developed when Ford was on a completely different path, it’s gotta be in the departure lounge in the next couple of years…

Ford tends to waste money on stupid things like Powershift transmissions which aren't lubricated and timing belts which are stupidly lubricated. Ford knows these were stupid designs, that's why they either ditched them (dry clutch Powershift) or are about to move away from them (2.0 diesel with belt in oil). Ford fans who knew what they were capable of are disappointed that they're becoming a Commercial vehicle/ truck builder that happens to build Mustangs and is getting back into Formula 1. Ford's biggest mistake or gamble was not having overlapping lines. They went on an ICE vehicle massacre and went all in on EVs and when that didn't work, they were just losing money because they killed the money-making ICE models. Cut and Paste, they did the same in Europe. In Asia and South America, they just cut... they literally just cut down the lineup and lost some market share and profits.

What do you think Ford is working on with CE1 and the upcoming new models? They've got more coming than just big pickup trucks. And brand loyalty is overstated nowadays. It's not the same as it used to be, except in trucks. It's still got a firm grasp in that area. -
Hmm, the current Maverick isn’t anything like the original Maverick. 😁
