2027 Lincoln Corsair Will Return To America With All-New Hybrid Powertrain Over the past few months, the future of the Lincoln Corsair seemed murky at best. The luxury crossover was built at the Louisville Assembly plant, but that facility is currently in the early stages of being retooled for the upcoming EV pickup, leaving the Corsair without a production home for North America. But the future is no longer up in the air - Ford Authority learned that the 2027 Lincoln Corsair will be sold in America packing an all-new hybrid powertrain. According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2027 Lincoln Corsair will return to North America as a Chinese-built luxury crossover, which means it will be imported. It'll exclusively feature a gasoline turbocharged hybrid engine: the 2.0L full hybrid, to be exact. That's the same powertrain utilized by the Lincoln Nautilus, the big brother to the Lincoln Corsair. https://fordauthority.com/2026/06/2027-lincoln-corsair-will-return-to-america-with-all-new-hybrid-powertrain/ -

It simply needs to be a halo model for Lincoln that can gin up some much-needed excitement for the brand. I wouldn't take the G-Class competitor description too literally. It will most likely be its own thing with no equal, direct competitor. -
Maverick and Ranchero both ended production in the late 70's (1977 and 1979 respectively) but Ranchero was in production much longer (started in 1957). I'm voting for Ranchero unless Skunk Truck is an option.

You’d think if IIHS was looking to make a true difference for safety, they would be beating down the door on 2nd and 3rd row occupant safety. The results and even seat belts vary wildly between brands. -

They exited segments where the competition drove down prices on ubiquitous products to the point they aren't profitable enough to bother thanks to Ford's higher than average platform costs. It's not just competition. There is huge competition for F series and they compete just fine because F150s are not anonymous blobs and they've optimized the platform costs over multiple decades. With this truck Ford seems to have the lowest cost outside of the Chinese and it's not a boring blob. Completely different situation.

Ford Thunderbird perhaps? Nah, let's not give them any ideas 😂. -
Sure, in theory that works........except Ford is great at having a plan until they don't have a plan....that's all I'm saying, just one of those back of the mind sort of "what if" things.
