  4. Yep-people seem to forget that...I've owned quite a few Fords for almost 30 years now and I've only had one dud out of the bunch of them.

  5. Edge is popular but so was Fusion and Focus. It’s always had pretty sizeable rebates so I doubt it was all that profitable. But it comes down to competing with BEVs for factory space and engineering. There would still be a lot of resources required to develop and build a North American version. It’s also competing with Bronco Sport and Maverick for drivetrains. Something has to get cut somewhere.

  6. My dealer said they will honor the $3,000 PCO even though I ordered the truck on 12/29/21 before the PCO arrived and my truck is scheduled to be built the week of 4/18/22. They are also accepting my X-plan.

  7. So close. Hopefully they get yours finished and shipped this week. Ours started production 3/17 and still does not show as built, but maybe we are in the same boat as you.

  11. My dealer has AS on 2 of the 4 trucks he currently has built and being shipped - a F-450 Platinum and a F-350 Platinum. They were price level 235 and 240, so were ordered after my 31st August order, as I have price level 230. Both of them also had 5th wheel prep and spray-in bed liners.

  12. I know of two F450 Lariat trucks built with AS. They both ordered in September 2021.

  14. There is a thread on the fordtremor.com forum that details this process, I tried to just paste it but it just showed a broken image for some reason. The title of the thread is: Console to jump seat swap project (Reversible) It can be done. Won't be the same as if you'd ordered it from the factory, as previously noted, due to AC venting. But, it'll work if you need it to.

  16. RMC-one of the national firms -Asplundh? Bartlett? or locals? My memory says a national tree service association-(lobbyist) had petitioned the industry a couple of years ago to offer a suitble gas option as the day long idling of bucket trucks was killing them with regenration issues. On another note I was riding with a friend today and one town over parked in a lot is a new 750 asphalt dump hooked up to a BIG tag trailer loaded with roller, skid steer etc. This thing was new and looked like the typical set up some guys use with a 12' body and a tag axle with 19.5 rubber-typical "asphalt special" as some guys call them-except this thing had Alcoas all around and the third axle was fitted with same 22.5's So I'm assuming it was set up with a non lifting dead axle. If it was a lift, there would not be typical. I'll try to make a special trip to get a picture. Bright red and with all those aluminum wheels it was an eye catcher...only thing it needed was a set of horns on the roof!

  20. Hello, I have a similar problem and, after several tentatives, i finally found something that improved the shifting behavior. I will share my case here. I got a 2013 Fusion Titanium 2.0 Ecoboost AWD with 60.000 Km and was very disappointed with shift quality. Besides some minor and sporadic hard shifts (which didn’t bother me so much), the most annoying issue was a huge delay/hesitation specifically from 2nd to 3rd gear on mid/high engine load situations. When changing from 2nd to 3rd climbing a hill, for example, the engine cuts/holds the acceleration for around 2s until the 3rd is finally engaged. On light engine load situations (like accelerating slightly on a plain road), the 2-3 shift performs normally (no delay). After a lot of research (found several reports of this problem, but no clear solution), i started with the basics: Fluid change (flush/complete) Updated PCM calibration to the latest available (Ford dealer) Clear adaptive tables / relearn The overall shift quality improved a bit, but the 2-3 delay/hesitation was still there (identical). Before going to next step, also tried a fluid additive: Added Lubegard Platinum But no luck. Didn’t notice any improvement. From this point, i started to pay more attention on the shift behaviour during my everyday ride (commuting to the job). I was able to observe that the 2-3 delay/hesitation on mid/high engine load was much more evident when the trans was cold. After a 30-40 min ride, it turns less evident (still there, but not so much annoying as when cold). Then, since i read a lot cases of problems on valve body (separator plate damaged by the check balls, wear on housing of control valves, etc…), i decided to go deeper: Replaced the valve body by a brand new one (both parts, main control and solenoid body) and reprogrammed the strategy and body ID codes using Forscan (works perfectly, automatically downloaded the calibration file from the internet). This procedure is known as “Transmission Characterisation”. The overall shift quality was now a bit better. Improved smoothness, no more minor/sporadic hard shifts. However, for my surprise, the 2-3 delay was still there! Identical behaviour (worse when cold, better when warm) So, in my case, the problem was obviously not related to the valve body. After discussing the case with a local transmission specialist, he raised the possiblity of some issue with the torque converter (not releasing the clutch properly). So, before going to the final and most expensive step (rebuild), he suggested a last try: Added Lubegard Shudder Fix The trans didn’t have any apparent shudder, but since this additive changes the fluid friction characteristics, i decided to give it a try. We applied the additive and went out for a test ride. The trans was already warmed up because i made a 30 min ride to the transmission shop. The result was impressive. The 2-3 delay/hesitation in this scenario (warmed up) was completely gone! No more "less evident", it simply shifts quick and firm. I drove the car for a few days and the overall performance of the transmission was much improved, specially when the trans is warm after a 30-40 min of operation. When the trans is cold, however, the 2-3 delay/hesitation is still very evident and annoying (still happens only on mid/high engine load situations). So, i am surprised and pleased with the improvement achieved with Lubegard Shudder Fix, this is why i decided to share here. It might help other users. I will continue the investigation of 2-3 delay/hesitation when cold on mid/high engine load. Regards, Felipe.

  22. I think I read / heard that there was a limitation with the "existing platform" as to why they could not offer the air suspension. I've been in new Escalade and X7, from a driver experience I think the cockpit in both is better. Primarily because of the features (map, camera, etc.) available in the LCD gauge cluster. The Navigator is definitely behind here, can't see the map or really do a whole lot of customization here. However the Nav wins in my opinion for the other seats in terms of space / comfort compared to those. I went Navigator for (1) engine and (2) comfort for all passengers vs just driver toys.

  24. Hard for a manual to live behind the torque numbers being made although I think meeting emission standards is the main reason why everything is automatic.

  29. For what it's worth, from my experience it's rare that a dealership doesn't have at least one service technician qualified to do transmission work. My dealership had at least three.

  31. Yeah its nice I just don’t like how it hammers the breaks to keep the set distance when someone jumps in front of you on the interstate. Other than that I love it!

  33. I received one via email 1st week of January ... It says quote - "This Cash Offer expires om April 4, 2022" I asked my dealer if the truck I ordered back in October would get this applied if it comes in AFTER 4/4... He said he didn't think it would be an issue

  34. 3 main reasons. High gas taxes. They have stricter emissions requirements that impacts how the fuel is processed which raises costs. CA is what is called a ‘fuel island’ meaning none of the fuel they receive comes through an interstate pipeline. They produce 30% of their fuel in the state, the remaining 70% come in via truck, ship, etc. Much more expensive than a pipeline would be.

  37. Here are extra photos with the 17, there is a difference between the ingot silver and the iconic silver. 22 is not 4x4 and it sits 3 inches lower, this was what I wanted. Gas 7.3 not a diesel, will be interesting to compare when I’m towing our Airstream. The payload is 4076 lbs, ready for any load. Only driven 40 miles, the truck cam in with 3.1 miles on the odometer. Now the decisions on the topper, air compressor, air horns, spray bed liner and more. Already have a Dash camera, highly recommended, this should be built in with all vehicles.

  38. Surprise, surprise and my truck is out of purgatory! Checked on the truck Friday morning, no updates from Ford. Received a call from the salesman and it’s on the lot at 1:45, shows up out of no where. I had asked him to send me photos of the truck on the trailer, this is a long truck.

  40. Ordered 9/21. Got my first build date on 11/16 for a build week just before xmas. Once that got bumped, it got bumped big because of the holiday plant downtime. It got bumped to 1/17, then 1/24, and got built on 1/25. Finally arrived at the dealer on 3/1 at 9am. By 2pm, it was completely prepped and ready to go. Here it is just as I arrived at the dealer: And here it is earlier this evening. Back Rack, Extang Trifecta, Weigh Safe hitch, and Weather Tech mud flaps (only two so far). More to be done.
